Well I spent 20 mins trying to get it to work and wala. But I did find 1.99 sale.
Go to register.com, they take paypal and put in code GTLDREG199SM. Works like a charm, make sure you put it @1yr otherwise it wont work. Enjoy!

Thanks steve, works like a charm as you said, be careful that this website makes you sign a payment agreement on paypal to allow *automatic* bills up to $2000/monthly so beware, you can later cancel this agreement on your paypal profile under Financial Info > Payments with previous approval (im translating from my spanish paypal) so look around!

But still great opportunity to buy domains cheap for 1 year! =)
