Hey guys,

Really just needing some advice in terms of email marketing
So here are my questions:

When you are selling a service what type of title do you put as your email title?
(I have seen a few examples and they just seem far to spammy)

What type of software do you use to send your emails? Do you use a service such as mailchip or do you use your own scripts or open source email marketing software such as phpList?

How do you monitor convertison, so if the user opened the email or it was not read?

Take a look at your own email accounts and pay attention to what is inboxing and what is junking.

What type of software do you use to send your emails? Do you use a service such as mailchip or do you use your own scripts or open source email marketing software such as phpList?

This really depends on how you obtained your lists. You're not going to have a lot of luck with desktop mailers or open source programs.

A good email platform will handle all your tracking.

Title needs to be catchy and attractive but not too common as most of the emails have. Try to be creative in writing a title as first impression is the last impression.

Thanks guys! Im really wanting to do this as cheap as possible, so using open source does seem the best for me! I just like to see how other people are doing it! Is their any way i can monitor the emails with out using some package from a company?

I know this thread is more than 1 month old, but I would like to jump in to help.

A cool service called Litmus can test your html template, content and email subject for spam score. Some call to action within the subject can make the difference between an Inbox hit or junk. Try to keep your CTA within the body.
