PR5 to PR0, what do I do?

Several days ago I found a good domain (already expired) with PR5, and there're 20 or so backlinks (all do follow) to it: one PR 4, four PR 2, two PR 1, all from authority sites with less than 30 OBL on each page. So I immediately grabbed this domain and installed wordpress on it, rebuilt one page literally according to google cache, put a new post on it and wait for google to crawl the site.

PR5 only stays with the site for three days, and now it's 0.
I've seen lots of people doing this but it seems their sites can always keep the PR. What possibly could I do wrong causing my PR loss?

Edited: Does it have something to do with registrar changing / dropping? Well, is it possible that PR went back to 5?

Check how many time this domains was expired, if it's too long, more than 6 months, you found your answer.

Also check backlinks quantity on timeline, maybe this domain lost a lot of backlinks suddenly. And check for IP diversity.

It's real, no 301 redirect. And it's a legit/authority site according to previous web archives, which made me wonder how come this domain's not being drop catched and rechecked several times to make sure it's not fake.
It's whois protected since I bought it, I don't know if it's protected before.

Perhaps the links were pulled out the week you got the domain? Or perhaps the sites that were linking to that were deindexed just recently?

I've heard from people that the moment they bought a high PR domain, they got tricked because the high authority links were pulled out (since they were homepage links). Since this is an expired domain, this is unlikely the case though.

No, backlinks are definitely not pulled out the week before I got the domain. All backlinks are NOT homepage links, actually I just checked those backlinks with PR 2 and above, they are inner pages of authority sites (all of them have PR 5+ homepage) and they've been there since 2009 to promote the site since its release (it was actually the official site of a short tv commercial series since then until it expired and registered by me several days ago) and all those backlinks are still indexed by google.

I just don't know what part went wrong. Anybody who's experienced with buying/selling high PR expired/expiring domains please give some ideas?
