how to save my site from hacking ?

hi there m really disappointed when i saw my site showing a message. hacker change my index page and he use his own page in my site . dont know how he do that i use strong password . how he change my site page ? i think he use RTE OR DNN system for hack my site . now i need strong security to prevent hacker from my site . but i dont know how to make secure my site.
if u have any tutorial or something to prevent from hacking please share with me .

Some questions have to be answered before any help can really be given:

1. What is your hosting plan? Shared hosting? Virtual Private Server (VPS)? Dedicated Server?

2. What is the Operating System that is on the server? Windows? Linux? .........Apple...?

3. As mentioned above, are you using some downloadable script like WordPress or something else?

4. Do you have any control panels like Cpanel, DirectAdmin, or Plesk?​

I use WordPress and I've had a couple of my sites "hacked". Pretty easy to fix. But it is aggravating.
