Changing title? Why the sudden drop in ranks?

I have a WP site for my girlfriends mobile hairdressing business. However, I will give you quick oversight what I have done.

I have the following seo installed on my wp.

- yoast

- seo pressor

- all in one seo

I recently installed seo pressor & noticed on her pages I have put hardlies anything with respect to onpage seo as seo pressor showed as her keyword density was to low & content to low.

All I basically had was Mobile hair dresser (My area)

Anyways..

I basically got the content score to about 55% & keyword density about 4%

I thought fantastic, I should now up in the ranks..

wait a few days & boom I've dropped :-S

My keywords when I checked on traffic travis, it says that they are easy keywords.


My keywords, I am choosing I will give you the process in how I am choosing to,,example..

If I was a dog walker in my local area I would do this..

1 of her pages was actually showing on google, 1st page in 5 th position.


However, since I have changed onpage seo, from basically nothing to something, I've dropped & also at same time I changed my SEO Title of page & done this for rest and quite a few of the other pages dropped too

Couple questions-

Is it common once SEO Title of website is changed that a website will drop for that particular keyword?

Changing on page seo ie keyword nd content density to acceptable seo pressor standard.. well 55% content nd 4% keyword density. Would this effect ranking as google is now seeing page with different writing than previous?

How long should I give it to see if the changes are working?

I only changed a couple of days ago..

Changing the title can affect your positioning.. just give it a few more days and see what happens.

The title is probably the most important on page SEO factor. Hence, it will affect SERP changes. The good thing is that Google is usually forgiving if you go back to the old title. You will get your old position back if the new one doesn't work out for you. Just don't keep doing it again and again.
 
Changing title and/or description can sink your site if your not careful. Choose it wisely each time you create a site.
 
What everyone is saying is pretty much dead on. One night I was drunk and decided to mess with my titles, etc..........FAILURE lol. Funny thing was, I didn't even remember doing it. Just a few days later when I checked my SERPs I was like WTF!? After I realized what happened and fixed it I recovered my positions pretty quickly. Give it a few days, and I am sure you will be fine. Best of luck!
 
You may have just gotten lucky with your rankings in the beginning, focus more on off site seo and you should bounce back more easily.
 
Titles are very vital on page SEO factor. Changing title do affect on SERP, it can also drop your ranking if not wisely chosen. However, wait for some time and if you don't see any progress, go back to your old titles. In addition focus on off site SEO as well.
 
If you're using SEOPressor, why would you settle for a score of 55%? Get that shit to 100%. It's not hard.

Seriously.
 
Why are you using 3 plugins that do the same thing? All in one SEO is the best WP plugin for on-page SEO imo... i think it works really well and I have it installed on many blogs.

That's what is called drunken-self-sabotage.
 
Agree on why two plugins. I had them both on for a bit and found Yoast to duplicate all my titles whereas uninstalling All in 1 fuked around my home page title. Good thing is I didn't use All in 1 for my post titles. What a nightmare it was.

You guys talking about site's titles, are you referring to the title that is seen on Google for the domain as well as the meta description? or are you referring to H1 title tags on the homepage? I dno't have H1 title tags on my homepage (it is a dynamic blogroll) and don't know how to set them. I have seen plenty of blogs not having homepage h1 title tags so don't know if that is good or not.

Anyone?

My gfs page title showed like this

Dog Walking | Pet Sitting | Dog grooming

My gfs Page everytime in google for say dog walking (my area)

would always show the tilte about & go to website.co


HOWEVER

I changed my site so that I had it looking like this (Not sure if this would effect ranking to)

Mysite.co/services/dog-walking

& Created seperate page titles, meta desc & keywords.

However when I click cache at google it shows a date previous 2 when i changed site structure etc & it's not picking up or rather not showing my site like the how I thought it would..

It always brings home page for dog walking but wont bring
website/services/dog-walking <-- I want google to recognise that & just stop bringing my home page when people are typing dog walking

Trust me, I have 20 domain waiting to reappear because of this.

Once a month has passed since you started your linking campaign you are in the safe zone.

Also, domain age plays a factor.

Hi robby, sorry to hear it's happened to you to. It's that sinking feeling I get when I'm working my tangerines off, to see just to only go down :-(

So see if I got this right, are you saying basically don't change & start a linking campaign?

*U've just sparked something:dunce:*

I done a previous backlink campaign, on my previous meta desc & since every page as its own seo desc & keywords.

What do you think?

Well since, I have changed & assigned everypage with a new title, meta desc & keywords.
