On the 7th of February there was a CB (ClickBank) launch titled SEO Link Monster, this product was created by Matt and Brad Callen and also Dori Friend. It?s a pretty expensive product so I decided to go for it and try to rank my site and make some money.

The launch was on the 7th so I kinda missed the mark. It was #8 that day. But in the next days it climbed up nicely, today is hovering in the #4-#7 region. As for sales it was ok even if I missed the mark made more than enough, and also if the buyers stick I will get 3 times more in the future months. And let me tell you that up sales rule, with 1 up sale purchased I?ve already covered the whole setup costs.
Keywords and Competition:
If you check Google SEO Link Monster doesn?t have a lot of searches and most of them are from marketers or rank trackers. So it shouldn?t be competitive,
WRONG! During the launch day it was highly competitive, because all of the big guns were trying to rank on page 1.
If you check the top20 competitors (I use Traffic Travis) you can see that #1 has 1.3k links indexed. My site has 34. And I have built a couple of thousand backlinks in the course of one month. So you can imagine that #1 has a couple of tens of thousands if not hundred thousand backlinks and we can only see 1.3k out of it. Interesting fact currently #11 has 4.6k links indexed (
www.seolinkmonsterxl.com) and he is way bellow me. So he either has poor on-page SEO or his links are useless.
The Strategy:
The strategy which I?ve used to rank this site is fairly simple and it mostly relies on the VIP Wiki Assassination N Social Bookmarking Revenge. But first things first On-site SEO: it?s perfect (sort of speak), the posting was scheduled to be done every 3-4 days and on the last 3 before the launch there was a post made every day. Now the biggest problem was that I had no clue what SEO Link Monster was. So I had to blab on general SEO knowledge, maybe that?s why the site wasn?t ranking so well in the beginning because the content wasn?t that relevant.
Off-line SEO:
I?ve started out with
directory submissions (spreading out 1.5 submissions in the course of 10 days) in the beginning and also deep linking every post of mine with
SENX (usually added 3 links to the wizard used a random template). As you can see on the 19th of January there was a violent dance which is expected, and the rules are simple: the more you fall the more ground you gain when you come out of the dance.
For 10 days I didn?t check my rankings (don?t ask long story) but there might?ve been a dance as well. On the 2nd of February I started
VIP Wiki Assassination N Social Bookmarking Revenge. As you can see the site drops a bit and then jumps 32 positions after a few days. If I would?ve started a week earlier I would?ve reached top10 faster. Live and learn.
A small tweak what I?ve done is that I have
Xrummered and
ScrapeBox blasted all my tier1 links (both wikis, and senx tier sites). The social bookmarks which are pointing to my money site and the wikis got backlinked as well with this method. As you can see SEO isn?t rocket science, and basically you can rank any site if you are not lazy (Guilty as Charged!).

Conclusions:
- I?ve stopped all link building on the 8th of February, BAD IDEA!!! DON?T DO IT!!! This is when most dances happen. Slow down the link building and then gradually stop.
- I?ve made my money back with a nice extra (also we shouldn?t forget the recurring commissions for the months to come).
- As you can see my page has PR1, in early February there was a PR update. Sweet
- Put this knowledge to good use
