I think the number of post required to pm should be reduced. New members cant be giving advice (where alot of post come from) but they also normaly post a question and then if they get a pm they have to put up 14 random post just to be able to communicate back. i can understand the post requirements im just thinking 15 is a little high for newbies.

Other forums are 50-100 posts or more. I think 15 is more than generous considering the propensity to spam with new members. Anyone making "14 random posts" to reach the PM requirement will find their post counts reset to 0 and their number of infractions increased by 1.

yes i agree with 7878 on this one, 15 is crazy low if anything i think they should raise it up.

From what I have seen, people will PM you if there is a need. You can ask them in the thread that requires it.

As a newbie, there is no need to PM anybody on your own as you would just be bothering strangers...

This process has been tested by a userbase of literally 150,000+ members. It seems to be working pretty well overall. Look at how few spam messages and virtually nil spam PMs we receive - that is a very good thing!

What 15 is more??? don't kidding us dude,,,

What does one do if there is a need to speak to MODs or ADMIN?

Go on IRC... there's always at least one of us around :)

Just to add - if you have an issue about a specific post/member, just use the "report" button and add a detailed reason. All mods for that section will get the notification and it's always actioned quickly.

Apparently, all you have to do is start a thread complaining about a protection measure that is actually appreciated by the members.

Sorry that makes no sense to me.

The creation of a new thread is superfluous to my needs.

Your reply is appreciated .:)

Actually, you are right. :o
There was more in that post but I did some editing.

Meathead had a much better solution. :)

ok then what qualifies as an actual post? because in my account info i can see over 15 post but it states i only have 7. And they were post where i actualy looked for something i could comment on and be relevant to the thread I can understand quality control on counting post. but what counts? (its probably in the forum rules so a link to where would work as an answer)

uve been here since feb 2012 2 months
and done 7 posts. i do 50+ a week.
and you cant do 15 in 8 weeks?

my other favorite post is thoes who have
been here 1/2 yrs with 5 posts complaining
about the same thing. 15 posts is nothing .

ok did you actualy look under recent post or just at my stats? cause obviously it was just my stats. and in the grand scheme of things 15 post is very little the problem is i cant do alot of the simple stuff because of the resriction. im not an IM so i have no purpose posting in alot of the threads. but my real problem relates to the my last comment not so much the start of this fourm.

Posts in the lounge do not count towards you post total; deleted posts and posts in deleted threads get subtracted from your post total.
