Hi there,
Just brought SB and started playing around with it.
THe only issue i have is the amount of time it takes to check the proxies.
Obviously as ive just got it i dont want to be paying out for Private Proxies just yet.
Is there anyway to speed the checking up?
Its running on a VPS with a good connection.

Proxies in list: 7085
Good Proxies: 22
Bad Proxies: 1972
Pass 1: 28% Complete

taken 47 minutes so far to do them.

Any way to speed it up?

try to play arround with settings....until Google will ban you...then make download threads a bit less and you good to go!

there are connection settings under the Settings menu -> Adjust timeout settings. You don't need to wait for the proxies to time out after 50 seconds or whatever the default is, that's not particularly useful for running SB anyway since each time you harvest through that proxy or post through it you'll have to wait that same timeout length. I brought mine all the way down to 10 seconds when searching for public proxies AND I have it set to 100 connections. Try that and you'll fly through 50k proxies quickly enough. Also, don't expect to get even 100 proxies from 20k... (also check them after each operation, you'll probably find half are dead already).

Better yet though, buy some private proxies, they are literally 1,000x faster and better and you never have to search for proxies ever again :)

Yeah i will probably get some private ones in a week or so - just trying to get a feel for it so far. But thanks anyways +rep

just an extra q - would changing the timeout speed up blog posting comments etc?

Yes, but only if you change the "fast poster" time out to a lower value, however that is not necessarily what you want because even it takes 90 seconds, you may be posting on a PR6 blog (you won't know unless you verify PR). I have mine maxed at 90 for the fast poster but you may want to play around with different settings. Considering how many of the links you leave will be PR0 or n/a, it may be just as well for you to have a 40s time out too.

The proxy checker in SB isn't performing all that well. As you noticed it takes a long time just to get a handful of working proxies. I finally had enough last week and searched out proxy software. Search for Proxy Multiply There's a thread here with a link to a 7 day free trial and a bhw special price of $29. It works well and it's fast. Just save the proxies, import them into SB and you're ready to go.
