I'd like to hear some thoughts on this method. My guess is that it probably won't work for some reason or other, though I'm not sure why.
Typically, cheap untargeted traffic sucks for affiliate landing pages and AdSense sites. For example, buying a bunch of visitors to your MFA site in a health niche will result in tremendously low CTR because most visitors don't care about that niche. Same thing with product pages. You need quality targeted traffic for that stuff.
With monetized YouTube videos, however, I think it's different. Preroll videos are very general in topic, and we don't require clicks to get paid for them. We just need visitors to watch the whole ad. A certain % of humans will always do this, regardless of what the ad is about. I myself have watched ads on YouTube about cars I'll never buy or movies I've never heard of.
If this holds true, then buying traffic from a place like ****** and directing it to a YouTube video is simply arbitrage (assuming the traffic isn't fake). The CPM of $1 is far less then the RPM you earn on YouTube videos. Furthermore, you'll boost your views, and if your video is actually good you can pick up some subscribers to boot.
The whole idea seems too good to be true though. What's the catch, guys?
