Yet another making money journal

Hi all,
I know this section is actually full of this kind of threads lately, hence the title. I hope that this thread will be useful anyway to somebody, and of course, also to me, mainly to keep track of my progress and to get feedback from other users.

I've been into IM from a bit of time now but never made really serious money (I think I made like 6k$ in total in my IM career) but since I'm not doing this as my main source of income and I'm still a student it is ok. Now, I'm trying to bring things a bit further and trying to get some consistent income through IM. I've not set any specific target yet in terms of earnings.

Throughout this thread I'm gonna try different methods from time to time (mainly related to CPA and Facebook) but I'll also be pursuing some long-term goals that I'll hopefully reach as soon as possibile. I'll be trying to reveal as many details as possibile as long as this don't get me in trouble (banned from CPA networks, saturate the methods, etc...)

My main goal as of now is white hat: becoming a YouTube partner. I already got a channel with some original videos I'm creating. They're all videotutorials about web programming and I just started it a month ago. As of now I just have 10 subscribers and approx. 500 views. (Of course I'm not gonna reveal my channel name here, cause even if I'm not using black hat techniques I think that could lead to some problems).

Since I need to give this channel a boost I'm gonna try to upload as many videos as I can and to promote the channel in every possibile way. Btw, if you have any suggestion about promoting this kind of channel I'll be glad to hear them. I'm gonna set up a website related to the channel soon (the next few days) and I'll be publishing programming related articles on it and hopefully get some bucks with AdSense.

These are the more serious white hat long-term goals I've set for myself. As I said I'll be trying also some BH methods from time to time to get some quick money if possibile.

I hope you'll enjoy this thread and if you have anything to say don't hesitate to post, I'm open to all suggestions

UPDATE

I've set up my website! It's a Wordpress blog with a premium theme on it. I already published some articles and the blog just needs some minor tweaking to be completely ready.

As of now I have 15 videos on my YouTube channel and 2 articles on the blog. I'll be trying to write at least 1 article per day, and remember this is original content I write all by myself.

How I'm gonna promote the blog? For now I will submit articles to social bookmarking sites, some with do-follow links to get some rank I hope. Also, I've created a Twitter account but I've never used it so I don't know what's a good way to get followers, Facebook page is coming soon, but I think these things are not so important until I have a steady amount of traffic coming on my blog, which is the thing I'm gonna work on first!

Already places AdSense on the blog too, but I'm not really sure about the placement. If anyone has suggestions about how to position the ads or even a link I could read it would be awesome!

Install a plugin called 'whydowork adsense'... it allows Ad Codes to be embedded wherever you like automatically. Personally, I place my ads in the top right corner of articles so they are displayed above the fold and surrounded by content. This satisfies me because they are visible and satisfies Google because they are not hidden for accidental clicks. Good luck with everything! $6K is a huge accomplishment, congratulations.

Site has been finally indexed by Google, now it's time to get some startup traffic!

Thanks! I've set up everything with a similar plugin to the one you are referring to. As of now I've set some horizontal adsense banners but I like your idea of placing the ads in the top right corner. I'll experiment a bit with both and see which will bring more $$.
