Getting back into SEO advice?

I have been out of the SEO game for a while (since last summer). I was running auto blogs and making a few hundred a month of it (Google Adsense) but since had gone to make my revenue elsewhere.

I'm deciding to go back to SEO just so I can have revenue coming from multiple places. It seems like a lot has changed since last year and I am not 100% sure where to start.

Should I go back to Adsense and start more auto blogs? Or should I focus on a product and sell it?

Auto blogs are pretty much still alive. May be it would be good idea to keep reading BHW posts for few days before deciding your new line of action. Since you're a senior camper, it wouldn't be hard for you to adapt to newer trends in SEO.

Yep. I am reading up on everything before doing anything myself. Would rather want to know what has changed and what to expect than jump into it right away.
