HostWinds.com Reviews?

This is one confusing thread. Don't know whether to check HostWinds out now

I've only been with hostwinds for a couple weeks and so far I can't complain they are very good. I wish your guys spam policies where not so strict I really wanted to use for VPS's for my service. Would 50k emails a day get a VPS of yours suspended?

I have been with Hostwinds since I moved from BPspace and so far this guys have been nothing but awesome, the 2 tickets I had were answered and solved fast!

I know there have been a lot of critics here about some possible power abuses or censure, but so far I'm very happy with their services, I hope it stays this way and would love to move all my sites there

I'm just sad I lost the anonymous hosting I had on bpspace for some american based hosting, which I'm not to happy about.

Peter, can you answer my emails, tickets or Skype messages?

I appreciate the kind words.....

Im sorry we can't offer "anonymouse hosting" but if you read our privacy policy we will never give out your information unless we are subpoenaed, and you didnt hear it from me, but since we started Hostwinds this has never happened

Peter, can you answer my emails, tickets or Skype messages?

Yes Josh sorry its been crazy, and none of your messages had to do with your hosting lol

I am still looking for a good hosting company, especially for my blackhat seo campaign. Hostgator and Hawkhost is good, but their price is a little high for me. I will try hostwind, I hope I can get good services there.

I moved to hostwinds about a week ago. I got the unlimited package and moved 3 sites there. 2 WP and one straight HTML.

I had an issue with the one WP site so I opened a live chat. Hostwinds replied immediately. I thought the problem was on the hosting end, but it turns out the problem was with a WP setting. Not only did they figure it out, they logged into my WP, fixed the problem, and then explained exactly what was wrong all in the course of a couple minutes. It's not the responsibility of the hosting company to explain to me or fix my WP settings so it was awesome that the person on the other end of the live chat knew exactly what to do even though it was a WP issue and had nothing to do with the hosting. I couldn't be happier with the customer support and knowledge of the staff!

This isn't a BS promo posting. I have no allegiance to hostwinds, I'm just sharing my experience with them.

please solve my problem im in hurry

I have been using Hostwinds for a couple of months now and I am pretty pleased with the service they have offered so far.

I have not experienced any downtime at all, the support is awesome, what else can you ask for?

Highly Recommended!

We gave you a full refund the VPS was working as intended I know you were concerned

"3 days ago i purchase vps from hostwind
and is fresh no account but
the vps memory status 39% usage even after i reboot
and 4.01 GB used . "

The VPS was at 38% of 1gb total memory the 384mb of RAM is the ram it takes to run the OS + cPanel

cPanel says it requires 512mb of RAM (http://www.cpanel.net/products/cpanelwhm/system-requirements.html)

So running at 384mb was a miracle in itself

as for the disk usage....

Well 4Gb is the size of the OS + cPanel I mean where did you think the OS files were stored?

I'm not with hostwinds, but my dedi always runs at about 30%-70% ram usage and it operates fine, what's the problem?

Ok, I just got my stuff set up at hostwinds and have nothing but good things to say! I can honestly say that is was no fault of theirs but I had some issues to fix and they did everything in their power to get me up and running, right up to walking me through problems with my domain reg service that they are not affiliated with. i am up and running and it took minuets compared to the hours I spent trying to figure it out myself. They are highly recommended in my book! I will be switching everything over to them within the next month.

I sent them a live chat request that was picked up in seconds and sent support tickets that were replied to immediately.
I am very impressed. Thank you to them and to all of the BHWers that recommended them!

Lol. I think it's cool that Hostwinds is on here.

Question: How slow would your Level 1 VPS 384mb be running Windows 2003 64 bits? Do I get root access?

root and windows do not go together ;)

and that question is impossible to answer, I would say slow as shit, but my new PC has 256Gb of RAM so Im probably a bad person to ask :p
