You can talk on Walmarts intercom from your home phone or Skype or whatever.

You have to do a little bit of social engineering but all you gotta do is call they Walmart you want to target. Usually it being a front desk and that's where the social engineering begins. You basically have to get then to transfer you to #96 .
The conversation would go like this:
Front: Hello?
Me: Hey, this is Tim from electronics. I was told to call up there regarding a missing child. We need to make a page and was wondering if you could transfer us to #96
Front: All you gave to do is hit the page button on the phone.
Me: Yeah, that's the problem . We don't have a page button on this phone so that's why I was told to get y'all to transfer me to #96
Front: Okay, one moment.

Now talk and you would be talking to the entire Walmart. If they don't know how to transfer just tell em to hit #96 while they are on the phone with you.

Now like I said, I don't know if you could monetize with this but you could possibly in some way shape or form.

"Good Afternoon Shoppers! Here's some words from one of our sponsers. *Insert recorded verbal advertisment for CPA offer with short easy to remember redirected URL*"

It's times like these I wish I lived in the US where I could try this shit :p

Probably not a good idea to use your home or office phone for this either! Just in case anyone hadn't worked that out

Exactly. You gave the right idea.

This is genius and evil. I hope people start throwing up youtube vids of them doing this into the thread!

The people at the front desk can see that you're calling from an outside line and usually won't fall for it. Instead ask the person who answers the to transfer you to another department, I usually go for fabrics because in my experience it has the highest chance of being an old lady who doesn't understand the phone system. You transfer to the intercom from there. You'll have a better chance of fooling an employee who doesn't use the phone all day.

It should go something like this:

Operator: Thank you for calling your Local Walmart, how may I help you today?
Me: Hi, could you transfer me to the fabric department?
Operator: Hold please.
*muzak*
Employee: Fabrics, this is Agnes speaking.
Me (confused): I think the operator made a mistake, Tony doesn't work in fabrics does he?
Employee: No, we don't have any Tonys in fabric.
Me: Well he said to call him back at extention 96 could you transfer me to him?

Walk them through how to transfer a call if they don't know how and you should be good to go.

If you're feeling a little ballsy you can just walk into the store and do it yourself. Look at the tops of the support pillars, some of them will have different color bands near the ceiling. A blue band means that pillar has a phone on it. Just pick it up, hit the PA button, say what you've got to say and walk out. You'll be out of there before they figure out what happened. For extra stealth, wear a navy blue shirt and khakis, nobody will bother you.

One time my dad paged a different home depot that he needed some item when he stopped working there and sure enough an employee came and brought the item for him and noticed it wasn't the manageer lol

I just about fell out of my chair reading this thread lmao.

Hhahaha i love BHW!

Not that I would ever try this, but for the sake of argument; are there any signal to indicate that you are successfully through to #96? If so, I guess (and again were are only having a theoretical discussion here) you could basically run a script on an asterix PBX calling all Walmarts in the US asking to be put through first to "fabric" and then a lot of "Hello? Hello? This is a really bad line. Is this Tony? Hello? Could you put me through to Tony on ext 96? I really can't hear you, could you put me through to" etc etc until they either hang up or you are through.

In theory (and again only a really screwed up person would ever dream of doing this) you could call the 4000 Walmart stores automatically in a matter of minutes. Even with a success rate of only 20% you would still successfully reach 800 stores.

This is a great share! I love BHW, a good laugh almost daily.

oh man that's great haha! don't you think there could be some "legal issues" though if you say you want to report a missing kid? oh well still that would be funny as hell, imagine going through walmart and hearing a fellow black hatter hard at work over the intercom!

Good luck finding an employee that will answer the damn phone, walmart is a zoo!

I haven't done this in a few years so things may have changed, but none of the stores I tried this at gave an actual signal. It took a few seconds after being transferred to the line before the PA would actually activate.

Am I missing something here? What's #96? Googled but didn't find anything.

As far as I understood it, #96 is the number at a Walmart Store from where you can speak using the loudspeakers. So basically you talk to every customer in that store.

OP: Nice method, made me laugh! :p

Anyone having an idea how to monetize this properly?
