is godaddy blocking the domain transfers ?

I have around 15 sites on godaddy that I want to move to namecheap, however, to could do it I need the validation code that godaddy should send to my email but they are not !. Anyone idea what to do ? godaddy sucks !

It's all about timing. Initiate the transfer procedure ahead of time or their delays will force you to renew with them.

You should ask for the code right after signing up, so you have a year to transfer and don't have to worry about that extra step.

They can't block domain transfers, however they could use delay tactics. Talk to Namecheap support, they know how to tackle if Godaddy is using delay tactics on your domain names.

How old are your domains? If they are less than 60 days old you can not transfer to another registrar

I tried to transfer to Namecheap from Godaddy earlier this year and got really annoyed too. Check if you have private registration with Domains By Proxy and make sure that's cancelled. Otherwise just keep waiting for the confirmation email - check multiple emails that the domains may be registered to.

Don't wait til the last minute but yeah, escalate it to support and they won't have a choice but to help you get it done. I've had to throw documentation back in their face before and it got me reimbursed so save all correspondence with them. It's like they said, they just don't want them moved somewhere else.

dommains are more than a year old. Guess that Godaddy is just pathetic. After 24hs did not receive any code. I only have a couples of ones with private proxies, did not receive any code from the private or none private ones.

Guess, with enough time, nobody that actually make money with their sites will stay on Goaddy, they are just thieves. I am really sick of them.

Never had a problem with a domain transfer that couldn't be resolved by a call to customer support of both companies. Just call!

Godaddy and 1and1 are real thieves. They use unfair tactics in order to prevent their clients from escaping to serious and professional domain name registrars like namecheap.

I think Godaddy also wouldn't let you transfer a domain if it was pushed to another user in last 60 days. I'm not very sure but I remember reading something similar. Do confirm about that also.

Something you need to check for.

I tried to move one over to namecheap a couple of months ago and I never received the code in the mail I went to check the info on the domain in question and Godaddy had never changed it over to my name and info. It was still showing the old owners info and email, best guess is he was getting the emails.

I was going to change all the info to mine and the warning said that I would not be able to transfer for 60 days even though I actually bought and had the domain transferred to me 6 months prior.

What I did was to just change the admin email address to mine and leave everything else the same. I then requested the transfer code, received it and transferred the domain to namecheap without a problem.
