Hi everyone
I'm planing to buy Scrapebox but I hear someone say I can't run it on my pc with home connection, please confirm this for me is this right?
Thanks

I have my scrapebox on my laptop. They say that because the performance is better in a vps with good resources, good speed connection, etc. My speed connection is 512kbs and my laptop a quad processor. The only thing i need it's private proxies :)

Hey, Scrapebox works on any Windows machine. There are mainly 2 reasons why people recommend against using it on a home connection:

1. Your home connection IP might get banned by search engines or a the websites you scrape using non-anonymous proxies which might reveal your home IP by forwarding it to websites.
2. A blog owner might complaint to your ISP if you spam or scrape their blogs without proxies or without anonymous proxies.

So if you harvest secure anonymous proxies using SB's proxy harvester, and use them to scrape and spam then you should be fine running scrapebox on your home PC. However, public proxies are usually slow since they're overloaded with thousands of requests. So you could also buy cheap private proxies and run scrapebox on your home machine.

Yeah, totally fine on your home pc if you have the bandwidth. A vps saves you needing to leave your pc/laptop running while you do epic scrapes and submits....faster connection etc.

Yes the internet connection speed is a major factor too! VPSes usually have decent net connection, especially if you live in a country where broadband speed is poor.

However, when it comes to processing/performance on a decent home machine, it is always better than a VPS, since VPS is running multiple instances of Operatin Systems on one server.

Really? That depends on how much system resources your vps has allocated. Not many home connections have a 100 meg or 1 gig connection either.

Well depends on what you pay for and what your requirements are! But OP would be fine starting out on his home connection.

512kbps is nowhere near enough for Scrapebox. I have the same configuration(i7), and I just got a VPS to run Scrapebox

In my experience the limiting factor is the net connection. I've ran SB on my home connection (12mbps down/4 gigs ram) and my VPS (100mbps down/2 gigs ram) and for posting at least, the VPS is day and night faster than my home PC. I'd actually like to look into trying one of those 1Gig download VPSs...
