I'm just curious, I have a few questions I'd like to ask you in a PM.

Im sure some people are. Depends where they write articles. If they started out writing articles and then hired people to write for them, $60k a year could be possible

I own an article spinning service (initially an article writing service).

No, if you are thinking about a 5-man company who is at #1 of a keyword, that is pretty high.

I would reckon you would only earn $2000 a month or $24k a year. That is already earning PRETTY HIGH for article writing. (assuming you constantly get orders 24/7 and your 5 guys are working pretty hard).

Article writing can't really get you much money unless you offer something that noone has or only a few has and your price is cheaper. Most SEO guys write their own content especially those that will be put in high directories or in their sites.

Not sure if there are any that post here, but there are dozens of writers on odesk that charge $40-$100/hr and have a thousand or more hours billed. Most of them only average about 20hrs/wk so they are probably getting work elsewhere as well.

This is mostly copywriting so not just quickly hashed out junk to get by the filters at ezine or copyscape.

Most of them are doing specialized work. Such as one writer is charging $30-$40 an hour since he has a doctoral degree and the site that had hired him was telling him to make a detailed case study on a certain disease and the product was being advertised on the same page.

There was some young kid who was writing 400 word articles at $60/Article , He was in forbes or something like that before :)

Probably, but it would take a while to work your way up to that. People try to cut corners when buying articles. Most (keyword most) people on this forum, and other IM forums, wouldn't pay more than $10 for a 500 word article. You'd have to write like 16 articles a day, every day of the year to make $60,000 a year. I used to write when I was a bit younger. One of the most boring jobs ever.

That's alot of money, maybe all together with everything that much. I don't write articles I scrape and spin them. One good Wordpress plug in for this is WPSynIT, but it also will blast them to more than 200 Blogs and .wikis links.

I can't imagine earning that much money by writing articles, but yeah $24k sounds right.

Hi

approx $60000 a year is possible
My experience......... and you do not need to write and charge high like $10 per article or charge in hourly basis.

But yes regular work should flow in for sure. if you have a good client base who are throwing article writing work for you then you can achieve that figure or more by just charging them $3 - $5 per 500 words.

Thanks
Joy

I had applied to write some articles in the past, and was actually turned down lol. It was surprising and not the best news for my self-esteem!

I'm sure there are many people earning that much through article writing. But it goes without saying that they are writing for bigger clients and charging higher for their articles. People who writer crappy, spun articles and sell it for $1-$2 have no chance to reach those heights.

Earning $60,000 in 8 months is also possible, I have a plan and it is completely legitimate and guaranteed.

I used to write for a fairly successful Scottish based online media supplier, which funnily enough, targeted French clients and I can tell you now that even the best in my cell, who was natural Francais, didn't earn that.

I suppose Freelance is different, however.

Writing articles is time sold, like a day job. Buying and using the articles is time invested. There's far more money in the latter, but of course requires a lot more skill and intellect.

I'd never sell an article. You can make more money using it yourself. And $60K p.a is only $134 per day; if you build up enough articles on directories and sites, it's easily achievable.

Yes, but just like people offering SEO services and building others sites they need start-up cash until the money from Adsense, C.P.A., sales, etc, starts coming in.
