focusing on the writing and paying attention to the punctuation thing* is the best of all take it as 11th one
and try not to edit while you?re writing your creative ideas, editing deflects creativity

And editing while writing leads to those awkward bungled sentences that are missing words.

1) Write the really obvious tutorials, not necessarily ones aimed at newbies-- but the kind of stuff you would consider rock-eating stupid, below basic, etc.. I write a three page tutorial on advanced techniques and I get a few nice comments, but people really go nuts over the dumb stuff.

Go figure.

2) Look for tips/tools from another area/market to introduce to your niche. The caveat is that that it should be a useful introduction or it should be so utterly disastrous that the results can't help but be hilarious.

If you are going to blog something make sure that you know the concept of what you are doing so that it may look like awesome to the eyes of the viewers. :) Right set of grammar, punctuation and spellings is also needed with this. Put some pictures of interesting stuff also so it can encourage more. :)

I like this list, not so much for blog posts, but for manual blog comments. Useful!:p

Very true. Especially putting up images (don't forget to tag them correctly!) is almost a must nowadays.

I would add one more thing. One can also give links to videos available online for a particular issue to increase the value of the blog.
