Sitting in lecture on my laptop, browsing BHW, and he comes out with that!

Aaahhh... What does he know! :p

He says it's bad because blackhatters want to make money!

Lol, I remember when my lecturer said something similar about Clickbank.

He was like, "never conduct business unless you personally get them vetted by the independent business bureau, until then it's a scam"

Black Hat Internet Marketers. We don't even
allow hacking discussion on BHW.

Black hat hackers = crackers = those who hack for personal gains. Like stealing credit card info and such.
Hackers = wide generalized term. It can be associated to robots, penetration testing etc. as well. It includes those who hack for personal gains as well, though, and that's what most people assume hackers to be.
