if i was google, I would completely ignore all signatures in all threads. If someone has a link in their signature, that link must belong to whoever is posting it, which means it is useless to google.
It is very easy for a G bot to tell what is a signature and what is not. just ignore everything under ____________________________

or look at the source code, I am sure signature has something special about it in the source code.

well I am just wondering do signatures still help you in serps, or no?

Yes they do and quite a lot usually ;) But they require lots of manual work. Google can't ignore the signature because there lots of forum and other platforms that have signature and it would be not fair if some signatures are ignored and some are not ;)

I think they do...forum posts works all the time, and also the signature...

Signatures from high pr forums can have good back link as well as from niche forums can have some visitors too.

Signatures really work & valuable, but require work.
Imagine you find a PR 8 link on a thread & you make a post you'll be one of the very few persons who got a link there. Like the no of posts are going to be less & full link juice to your site.

But a blog comment PR 8 link too much spam!
Take the time, & it's valuable.

It's a good thing you're not google, most people don't do seo so they don't think like that.People link to their favourite sites, that's why google does pick up on them.A signature link is worth more if it appears relevant,e.g a tiler in a tiling forum linking to his business site would be a good link,it's normal and shows he's interested in his work.
Alot of forums require a certain number of posts before you can use a sig link,so in my view it is more valueable because 95% of spammers won't follow up.
