Best Long-Tail Keyword Research Technique / Tool?

Ello - Looking for techniques / tools to find Long tail keywords at least 3 words long. Anyone have any nifty techniques to sort lists from Adwords keyword tool by their word counts? Or a tool that has a large allintitle competition checker.

The OP asked for a trick for the GAKT or a program that has an all in title scraper, but I don't think this tool has an allintitle scraper?

If it's longtail keywords you're after, then Scrapebox's Keyword scraper can scrape suggestions from most of those sites in that WSO.

Try this.

Your root keyword is iphone.

This will return plenty of prefix ideas for your root keyword.

Then work your way through the entire alphabet & add a single letter to the front of the root keyword (iphone).

Example: aiphone, biphone, ciphone, etc...


Root Keyword

aiphone

biphone

ciphone

diphone

Ok, same keyword as above iphone, only numerical instead of the alphabet.

You still need to check traffic levels, on the Google Instant longtail keywords.

Really the prefix & suffix is endless, with Google Instant...

Example: 1iphone, 2iphone, 3iphone, etc...

If you turn OFF Google Instant & go to the Google home page to do your keyword research, you'll double your search results (max) from 5 results to 10 results per search.

Then leave a blank space at the end of your search (arrow in screenshot below).

I had a KW tool that does that.. in 2009! That's almost 3 years ago.

While intitle, inurl and inanchor can be useful for gauging competition, you are much better off analysing the top 10 results and looking at:

1. On-page SEO, ie: title, description, headers etc.
2. Off-page SEO, backlinks (particularly the quality of backlinks)

Also you might want to consider domain age and page rank as well.

Actually, scratch that.

Analyze the Top 3 sites because that's where you'll get traffic.

p/s: There's a tool that does this in bulk but I think I'll keep it a secret.

Google is NOT giving the correct search volume on the google suggest keywords...seo tools is a little better but still looking for one that gives you correct search volume.

They probably just dont want us to know.

Google keyword tool is the best. Lately their numbers are correct because I ranked some keywords to first pages and got impressions as mentioned in the keyword tool.

your software is not working bro. when I import keywords and press Start, the boxes with intitle/inurl are empty. can you fix it please?

I've had good luck with Keyword Scout, still might find the discount on here for it, not sure if its still valid.

But I've used like market samurai & keyword elite and find KS better than both of them.

My best keyword research software is "niche mind reader" and "market samurai".

Niche mind reader will generate a long list of long tails for you. The way it works, you input a keyword in it (for instance, free ipad) and you can load a list of other keywords (it has a list of possible question words already defined).

So it will start scraping for ... what + free ipad, should + free ipad .. etc

And you'll end up with long tails like "where do I find free ipad online" .. and the like.

Now, you'll get a pretty extensive list of keywords doing this, but not all have traffic. This is where Market Samurai comes into play...

You load that big list into MS [it kinda gets stuck nowadays for big numbers], so you may want to break the list of keywords into 1000-1500 chunks and get their traffic volume [exact match].

That's what I do ...

I really like SECockpit. The downside is that it's expensive, but it can do a lot of keywords really fast and the top 10 competition analysis as well.
