Some weeks ago, one site was ranking for "facebook" in Google India. There was a thread about it on BHW. Just search for it.

I think it's possible, if you can get more links than Google has. But that's whole another story, u can't get that much links lol.

Sure, but getting huge amount of links will definitely rank you high. However, it won't last long if site doesn't match other criterias.

Umm.. no. As I said, "SERPs are not determined by the number of links only. Google uses hundreds of SEO signals to analyze a site.".

See this example:

#3 got 5k Links.
#4 got 20k.
#5 got 1.5 million!

And so on!
