disappeared from top 100 serps for all keywords

can someone help me diagnose if my site has been slapped.

its not a particularly hard term to be ranking for and the site is 6 months old. i am still getting traffic like 6 visitors a day down from 30-50 a week ago.

i have been building links mostly amr but i keep this fairly constant and have never seen this happen to a site.

i might be jumping the gun as it could be a dance but its the fact it has gone from top 100 for 8 terms that it used to rank on first page for.

If it just happened recently you probably got slapped by the "Google Layout penalty". There were some threads already about it, seemed to affect quite a few sites. Look it up in the search. Basically you need to move yours ads down so there is mostly content above the fold though I think there's more going on than that being probably more Panda crap rolling out...

Google has been making some changes, I lost 1 of my site which was pure whitehat,

Basically you need to move yours ads down so there is mostly content above the fold though I think there's more going on than that being probably more Panda crap rolling out...

thanks for the reply but there was no ads on the site its purely to sell products. it is only about 15 pages total in google including tags and categories. think i will add a few more pages in the coming days anyway.

Thats what happened to two of mine around the 20th when they announced they were rolling out the "Layout" algo changes. From the word around the forums its taking out sites without ads too. The public announcements are never the real truth...

It would help if you explain exactly how you are doing your linkbuilding. I personally do not use AMR. I rather create 10 high quality articles on high quality sites rather than spamming 4000 shit ones.

Do you create linkwheels to your site? What age is the site? Lots of factors could come in here.

Not sure if anyone does this but here is a little method I did for a site I have got ranking at 3rd spot on google for a keyword that gets 2.5million exact searches a month.

Send cheap dirt traffic to your site for 2 months so it looks active and then keep linkbuilding while it gets this traffic. That is what i did and it works really well. I have been solid 3rd place for a long time now!

I like to use SEOSerp to check and see if I am in the top 1000.

And I use that as a reference. If you are not, then I would say you have some sort of penalty. May be lifted after a amount of time.

If your site in in the top 1000, create backlinks with anchors of all the keywords that dropped, and do this consistently. You should see the site go back up if you do this and add some content as well.

MORE INFO FOR ANYONE WANTING TO KNOW....
site is approx 6 months old, links are built to every page on the site with both the url and anchor texts, There are ZERO adds on the site. my sites are highly SEOED but only to the point to ensure they include my keywords i am targeting in an exact match way just once(i find it is better to under-optomise on site SEO but make sure it is all there.

Link building is 50% AMR(used to be more but AMR is getting very ineffective), i also buy social backlinks(senuke type) to all pages of my site and build my own blogs(private sites in wordpress) for authority backlinks. I build all types of links to all pages and mix it up with Long tail keywords probably 40% plus of the time.(i never use blog comments any longer... no reason other than i dont have any good list to blast to.) i would usually build web 2.0 properties also but have not on this site.

i am now showing for 2 keyword i targeted the other day just before i noticed the drop out of the SERPS and have reappeared in google.com for 1 of my main keywords(the hardest to rank for one.. at position 92

so after a couple of days ago i was showing for just 2 keywords in google.co.uk(the web) results and now i am showing in around 5 between google.com and the two versions of results for google.co.uk. defiantly looks like google has done something, maybe i have just upset the big G somehow and they has discounted all my links or something to this site.

I think i will need to watch my serps for this site for another week before i can really make a decision on what to do with the site.(lucky for me i build many sites targeting similar keywords so im already back on page 1 of google for the main keyword) i just would like to figure out what has happened here.

What you need to do is to calm down It happened to me exactly like this 2 times (same webpage), and it always came back stronger. 1st after 2 weeks, 2nd after 1 month. So if your site is still indexed, you don't need to worry. Just continue to build backlinks and that's it. BTW I know the feeling all the hard work just vanishes.

Exactly my case. This site of mine has like 45 inner pages, all of them SEOed for specific keyword. And all of them dropped, even from 1000. I am not exactly sure what caused this, but I suspect this: I created a backling on some page. And somehow this link appeared on ALL inner pages of that site. Like 2000 or so. And this I think was the problem. I've heared that google has lots (around 20 or so) of datacenters around the world. When you create that many backlinks instantly, all the datacenters need to sync. I believe this is the "drop" we experienced.
I suggest you to keep building the backlinks, at least I've been doing and it turned out to be a good idea

I am not exactly sure what caused this, but I suspect this: I created a backling on some page. And somehow this link appeared on ALL inner pages of that site. Like 2000 or so. Nice to hear this! As I said, I believe if you are not deindexed you eventually come back sooner or later All the drops are just the result of unsynchronised Google databases, I don't believe in all this "penalty" nonsense - just backlinks by themselfs can't harm your site (like deindexing). Because there would be numerous services offering the "destruction of your competitor" and I don't see any around.
