It happens to any filesharing site that wants to secure their assets and not want to spend 20 years in guantanamo bay

But yes, those sites doing business with americans are especially at risk. Who offer premium accounts in USA , who have servers in USA etc. Cos they fall under US law by that.

Uploaded.to blocked all US traffic cos of that.

And Filesonic had servers in USA thats why they are probably changing some stuff and then ( I suppose ) might be back as before.

If YOU made money with those sites be happy they are taking measure now. Cos it might happen that all megaupload uploaders will be sued. US Government/FBI have all your data, what you uploaded etc. And since you earnt money from it , its pretty illegal. There might also come civil law cases from that for uploaders.

They cant sue that easily. Not many internet providers keep all Dynamic IP data for too long. And until the carges are been made lots of time will pass. Even after that providers would need months, years, to track back to whom all those dynamic IP adddresses were assigned to.

Paypal paymants/payouts? Oh well. To be a member of megaupload wasnt illegal. Can they proove someone did something illegaly? Maybe. But read 1st part of my post.

Yes IPs arent of too much worth here but if you ever used paypal or your credit card with megaupload they have your data (if you used your real data) and if you have files in your account like modernwarfare3.iso its easy for them to check if its an illegal copy , do you seriously think they wont harm the top uploaders?

I dont think it will harm TOP uploaders.
At least not in deutschland.
Or europe. Here you always need PROOF.

And TOP uploaders always use funny filenames and ENCRYPT all archives.

So they have their membership payments.
And encrypted files.

And perhaps 10 000 000 members.

Uploaders got pissed because FILESERVE shut down their AFFIL programm & access to all files.

Many deleted their files
Or FILESERVE deleted them.

After megaupload got shut down I bought a one year license of Fileserve.. FUCK! I've asked them to deduct one months fee and refund the rest of the fee.. Let's see if they do :/ We might be going back to the torrent era
