So, if I am correct in my knowledge, domains of .co.uk are outside the jurisdiction of the US. So therefore, considering the following factors, would this mean the US has no control over the content which would be hosted on the servers:
- The server and all storage is hosted outside the US
- I am not a US citizen (I am from the UK and live in the UK)
- I register with a non-US based company
Also, anybody who knows a bit of British law, for those reasons, my site could not be taken down for copyright, as they have to issue a notice first as a request for us to take such content down if it was hosted on our servers.
As you may be able to guess, I am finding a way to set up some file sharing site and avoid the US government and stick to our British law.
