Do outward links to high pr sites help?

OK, so we all know good quality back links help, but what about outward links? Do they make a difference? Thanks

I wouldn't say they help your ranking, but I do personally think that Google likes it. On my authority style site, I always link to relevant sites.

Relevant links look more natural in my opinion, like a link to wikipedia's description of your niche usually helps.

most of my web 2 buffers will have links to wikipedia and other relevant sites and I do on my authority sites also. Seems to help

Do it.. It won't cost you anything but you can be assured that Google will pass on some credit to your site. Just link it to Wikipedia. It helps or you can say, 'mind satisfaction'.

I don't beleive that it helps in any way, the only thing you lose is linkjuice that you could use for your innerpages. Never saw any change of rankings with or without.

It always helps I think and I use it, but make the outbound links nofollow.

Some people say nofollow links still absorb the linkjuice but just not pass it on and others say its useless to make outbound links to authority sites nofollow cause then Google see's that you try to trick them. Just rumours I heard at warriorforum.
