Do I Need Diff Email Addys For Each Namecheap Accont?

Hey Blkhtrs!

I wanted to open more than one namecheap acct, as I need
to keep domains separate, for site flipping purposes...

Anyone know if I have to use a diff email address for each account?
Or, any other issue I might need to be aware of when having more than 1 account

(Just after Xmas, when I was going though the domain purchase process
of a .com domain, namecheap asked me if I wanted the ".org" version for
free, of course I took it. I just wish they had the same offer now! )

Yes you would need a different email for each NC account.

Although I'm not sure if Namecheap would like multiple accounts. Good Luck.

but, it doesn't seem to make a lot of sense that you would be in some type of "violation" for having more than one account?

Keep in mind, I'm not creating multiple CL accts where I have to "look behind me" and change IPs - these are legitimate accounts I would create so that I can build sites to flip; and keep things separated and use accounts to organize.

Think about it - If you need to keep domains separate, for any number of reasons, they would say "you can't, you must only have one?"

I suppose that could be, but they are closing themselves to revenue, in that someone would then just go to another registrar? it seems marketers have a need to segregate domains - I can't imagine they would frown on such obvious need?

It doesn't seem logical...

you didn't actually say it was "not allowed" but I'm running with the innuendo that
it may be "against their terms"... I'm doing so because I am curious about their
stance on multiple accounts, as I couldn't find the answer on their site?



Anyone else have any knowledge regarding this point?

Change I.P. address for sure or they have been known to lock accounts. A big pain.

You know I just got done with chatting with their support team.
They explained they do not have a policy against it - and agreed
with my assessment that many who who sell or flip sites, or others
that simply need a way to manage and organize - need to do this
in order to maintain some system of organization. They agreed...

They explained they have "no policy against it" - I took screenshots of
our convo, in case anything ever happens.

He did say that I did need to have a different email address for every account

SO! That being said, it "Appears" that I have nothing to worry about - except
for the "pain" of creating new email accounts.

I "paraphrased" what I understood about the "take away" I had from our
"convo/chat" with the rep, that he said it is OK - And he agreed

Hali, I've had many accounts with them for years and never had any problems. I wouldn't worry about it if I were you.

Also, for ease of handling them, get (or use) a gmail account and you can add "+xxxx" (without quotes) to the username which namecheap sees as separate addresses but is the same one with gmail.
Add such as username+extra1@gmail.com for example.

About creating multiple gmails - I understand that the trick where you change the location of the dot "." within the gmail address, similar (in a sense) to your trick with the "[email protected]," is now something that Google has little tolerance for, and will shutdown accts in short order.

Again - I do not know if they also clamped down on your trick, but feedback about the "dot" trick suggests they've wised up; just like they finally did about forwarding more than 2 gmails accts to a catchall or master gmail acct (I used to buy K's of gmail, and forward them, back a few years ago). They clamped down on forwarding activity over 2 years ago...

So then, popzzz, do you know if your trick is still currently viable?

(I just hate to be looking over my shoulder like I used to)
