Never had to go up against a forum before, is it harder to beat than a static site with all that new content being generated by users?

Forum has a fair number of links but nothing special.
(no it ain't BHW)

Well a forum is a url like any other.

There is nothing different,content,link building,good on page,domain autorithy.

Forums rank easy b/c of keyword density and the number of new pages being added to the site with each new comment. You can out rank a forum, it helps if you are adding pages to your site through a blog or something like that. I regularly out rank forums for the keywords I target.

If you are up against the root domain of the forum it is definitely not going to be as easy as one might think if they are even remotely good at seo.

The amount of content being generated, not to mention the site structure of forums (well optimized ones) give them a nice on page advantage over most sites.

In any case, the main thing to take into consideration is to not only focus on building links but also on having better/more content.

They are VERY good at SEO, super hard keyword and they ranked it VERY fast.

This is why Im asking here, normally sites don't worry me :D

Get Zombies, DDos it 1 week long and it's gone.

What? your service?

This. = +1

Most of the forums in top ten are authority but i found outranking them relatively easy except if the page/thread have a lot of relevant backlinks.
