Donor allows you to have a banner in your sig, while Jr. VIP's only allowed to place a link in the sig. That might be the reason some people prefer to be Donor.

I have a banner in my signature though.

Huh? But under your name you got the Donor pic. Okay now I'm confused, how to see the difference between Donor and Jr.VIP?

I had 5k capacity on donor and jr. Vip as well.

Jr VIPs are Donors. Donors are not Jr VIPs.

The Donate section is quite outdated. I have 5,000 PM capacity as Jr. VIP also, and the Donate section says you can have over 500 PM capacity.

Pink is an advantage for people who want to promote a service on BHW in their signature, without having to jump through the hoop of having many posts or having been a member of BHW for a fixed period of time. Being "pink" doesn't give you access to the forum though, you have to be Jr. VIP for that.

Most people are Jr. VIP because you get everything pink has, and in addition you get access to Jr. VIP forum.

There are benefits to being Jr. VIP above and beyond access to the forum. In the buy/sell thread, many service providers offer free services to Jr. VIP members in exchange for feedback, when a new service is launched. There are opportunities only available to Jr. VIPs, such as a private blog network. If you want to do business with anyone on the forum, they are more likely to trust you if you are a Jr. VIP or donor.

I have also confirmed by talking with a Donor that both Donors and Jr VIP have 5000 PM capacity so there is no difference there. I think as phpbuilt said, you can buy Donor without being a member for long and having lots of posts, but there are no actual benefits given over being a Donor vs. Jr VIP from what we can find.
