I thought I would post this for anyone who can't figure out how to make a little bit of money. I would have put it in the money making section but this is more of an inspirational thing that an actual method (feel free to move it though).

This teacher is strapped for cash....like most in America it seems...and decided to start selling advertising on the tests he gives his students. Pretty good idea!

Don't give up!

Yes...we were just watching this on the news.

He sells ads at the bottom of his students' tests and the money is used as funds for the school.

Now, this is thinking out of the box.

A bunch of my friends are school teachers here in Canada and love what they do (like most teachers in the world). Luckily for them, they don't have the budget problems that the American teachers have. I think it's sad that these guys have to pay out of their own pocket to help educate the kids.

It would be interesting to get some offline advertising out there.
I wonder if anyone could advertise or just the parents and what not.

I know of a bunch of broke farmers also. Of course, they drive 200k tractors and drive a brand new truck to boot. And the government pays them not to plant their fields. It is tough everywhere.

Don't believe everything you hear about American teachers. (or farmers)

No, I understand your point. We face the same farming issues here. I just think that education (or lack there of) is the key to a lot of problems in the world....not just in America.

No, I don't think you got my point. The farmers I know are far from broke. The teachers I know are far from broke. (including my daughter)

But everybody always hears about how 'bad' it is. The reality is often not even close to the illusion. Sure, some teachers and farmers have it bad, but so do auto workers, steel workers, and every other profession.

That's disgusting in my opinion. Kids, especially at school, shouldn't have to have ads stuffed in their fucking faces.

I don't think anyone is going to complain about raising funds for schools at the expense of a 5x5 ad box at the bottom of a test paper being dispensed to our children in highschool. Last time I checked the schools were socialized in our economy and the money comes out of your pockets as a taxpayer. The more help the better. Ethics come into play when it comes to advertising to minors but I don't see the major television stations having any problem doing it. Does that make it right?

Lol...no I know what you are saying...honest! :)

And flow...I don't think anyone wants ads on a test but some schools show commercials and are paid for products to be placed in the schools etc. The point of it all is that the teachers shouldn't have to shell out money to give the kids what they need so this guy got creative.

Ah! If only I was at this high school I would put my own ads on the test to some CPA offers. Try to make money off the school... LOL

Too bad I am too old for high school now.

I do have to say that is creative, never would have thought of that.

I would complain. They better have an opt-out LOL

I just think it's fucked up to push consumerism on kids period. I think it's disgusting how much incentive they give kids these days to sell things (I'm sure you remember those programs where you would sell products like popcorn and giftwrap and get SHIT in return)... it's pure exploitation IMO.

It's screwed up because all they should be thinking about during a test is the curriculum. Ads are designed to draw your attention to them, it's pretty fucked up to be actively screwing with the students while they're trying to concentrate.

N

I agree apekillape, its ridiculous to do this to students especially while studying or in exam's, if the teachers are poor, they should learn to teach better instead of pursuing a quasi-marketing role. (or do marketing fulltime ;) )
