The amount of products could make your site look more legit, so I would go with 5 as a starter and every week add a product. This will also show that the site is being updated and looks active for users who go there. You might even add some fake testimonials or use tweetattacks to reply everyone writing a certain product name.

Next to that, make sure the site looks like a website where you would rely upon when looking for information. Maybe look at how amazon and other large websites place products. Put something like rating stars next to the products reviews, use bulletpoints instead of large text as a summary on top. Maybe put a facebook like button next to it and buy some likes on fiverr for 5 bucks. This will show that a lot of people like the product and this will, in these ages, convince people it is a good product.

I am goint to start on this project soon and will let you guys know how I am doing. For the niche, just be creative. Find something which people will easily buy online. Look at the top niches and beyond.

Take a look at offervault. Maybe you can find a CPA niche which you want to use and on offevault you can see the CPA-company that offers it right on the same site. Check it out!

I'm at 30+ hops at cb and 100+ at amazon and nothing yet, are the conversions generally this low? Is there a ratio I should be shooting for? I'm used to cl, where anything under 1:30 is a problem, lol.

well cl is very targtetted traffic. How targetted is your traffic. If its not that targetted then your conversions could be as bad as 1:500.

Depends on the traffic quality really.

I have wildly elaborated on this idea and have a couple domains going now with different traffic sources, I would say it's targeted, but you're right, it's not exactly buyers knocking on my door like cl. I can make 1:500 work, as long as it works at some point, this method is really scaleable with the traffic, I'm just trying to find a nugget of gold in there that I can sink my teeth into. I have learned so many other things by doing this though that i'm 100% sure either this or something I branch into from this will end up working.

That's right. The trick is for them not to realise it's an affiliate link and assume the review is genuine and unbiased.

Most definitely, because if someone hovers over a link on your page, they will be able to see it and also when they click it they will see a really messy link with lots of random characters plus your CB ID. If you are using wordpress then there are plenty of plugins out there to cloak outgoing links or you can just go for the basic bit.ly ones. But using ones that just look like another page on your site work much better.

I see the importance of buying a domain for this method. However I am thinking that if I can make this work, then I will likely want to duplicate it across several niches. SO in order to try and save on costs I was wondering about buying a generic domain that includes the keyword review, and then using subdomains within this domain for the various niche review sites that I set up.

So using dating as an example my review site might use a domain name something like;

datingdotreviewsitedotcom

and then any additional review site could follow on form here i.e.

losepoundsdotreviewsitedotcom

etc etc

OP do you see this as a viable way to save a few pennies along the way?

Well, it has been a few days so I will share my insight. My opinion on selling a site like this, would just be that you need to be completely open about sharing how you are making the money. I know you mentioned ranking these sites but, if you are targeting those hard keywords, doing this alone will take years to rank. You just need to let the buyer know your method and what you do to make the sites generate sales...

Ok, I made a personal blog for a niche in Wordpress. I review 4 products, giving my first product my full endorsement. Is this a good idea to do instead of a straight up review site? I know Meathead said a personal blog is fine, but that wouldn't make it seem like it would be an unbiased review.
I went the route of a personal blog because I wanted to give information on the niche, as not everyone would be familiar with it. Any advice on this would be great. Thanks.
