Ways to Promote my Facebook Page?

Me and my Buddy created a Facebook page. It's a political page, we don't want to make money off of it, we just want to spread our political message.

We created the page 2 days ago, and I posted about it in blogs, reddit, and digg so far. We only have 38 likes. What other promotional methods can I use?

Any suggestions and help is always appreciated.

You can use facebook as the page, and post relevant comments on other political based facebook pages, that way when people see them on the wall, if they like what you have to say they may like your page as well. This strategy has worked for me many times.

Get on political related forums and let people now about this. Also get on more on facebook.

Go for twitter also. Have you guys thought of SEO? It may help on the lung run.

Yeah but services like that don't actually solve any problem, they can help you just with the "impression" of popularity. They won't have any traffic and the facebook "audience" will be dead.

people won't take your fb page seriously if you have low numbers. I personally think you should boost the page number, it builds confidence in other friends/families/people. It's just like forums, you see a forum with low post/thread numbers you're more unlikely to want to join vs a forum that has constant interaction and the amount of "numbers".

Boost the fb page with exchange sites or whatever method to get the numbers up, if it's inflated who cares, you'll eventually get the organic members liking it.

And yes, stay relevant to your page, don't post off topic things if your fb page is political related.

Otherwise get the like button everywhere you can, ask for a like and link your page, add it to signatures if you e-mail users. As others have said, get more friends, promote on twitter, G+ etc etc...
