I'm about to get my first big payment through paypal (around $2000) and I was wondering how big the chance will be that Paypal will freeze my account. I have received a couple of payments before on my account ($200-300). My account is not verified. Will I be able to withdraw it as soon as I get it, or should I pick a different payment method? If so, what do you guys recommend?

With an amount that high, you will probably get limited as soon as you try to withdraw. Why didnt you verify it with whatever bank you will use to withdraw(unless your requesting a check)? I would recommend western union if that was actually an option for you and your in the USA

I didn't think I was going to use the account that much which is why I didnt verify it. I'm not from the us, but I'll check western union out.

Yeah I'm sure paypal will jump on that as soon as the transaction is done. I'm afraid to deal with that kind of money on paypal personally.

By the way, good luck getting your money and getting an account set up so it works. :)

NEVER , EVER Go down that road. Paypal will easily freeze your account n the chances of getting it back are very slim.

I advise you to get a verified acc some how n then proceed. Otherwise your just jumping in shark waters.

make sure to verify your pp account if youre going to use it for large transaction
just get a vcc and do it lol!

I can tell you from personal experience that there is a 100% chance your PP account will be limited the second you try to withdraw the $2000. There is a 99% chance your PP account will be limited if you try to draw it out in smaller amounts over time.

Unless you want your money tied up and maybe even taken from you, DO NOT USE PAYPAL!

It will not matter if it is verified or not with a transaction of that size. Unless it is a completely legit account and you have every document that they are going to request from you. You will at the very least have your money held hostage for 180 days.

Why dont you just verify it, withdraw the money and then close the account.

As mentioned previously, just verify your account. If you need the money to be anon then Paypal isn't really the route to take.

Short of that, have the sender send the money in smaller breaks.

Thanks for the advice guys. What do you think I should chose instead of PayPal then? And this is clean money, no need for me to be anonymous.

Yes Paypal are bad but they don't limit everyones account just because you withdraw.
Having said that, the fact that you have not verified your account could cause you problems.
I would verify your account and then start purchasing items that you can resell on amazon or your local auction trading site. Don't spend all your money at once. You will probably make a loss reselling your items but you will at least get most of it back.

Open a 2checkout account, take the payment, withdraw to bank. No need to log into your Paypal.

Your Account will be limited immidiately so dont risk that. Verify it before getting paid.

Paypal shouldn't freeze your account even if it is unverified. They will limit you to withdrawing $500 a month, so you won't be able to withdraw all $2,000 at once. Paypal only freezes your account if there is a dispute or if it looks like something fraudulent is going on.

they usually freeze/limit your account if it gets over $1600 USD IF its not verified. As long you can maintain it under that amount, you should be good

Getting 2000$ payment for non verified account is really suspicious.
I would better suggest to take some other payment mode to be safe.
