How do you transfer the file on your windows server to your desktop.

Hey guys,

I always upload the file to my linux server and then download it from there on my desktop.But is there an easier way ? I have tried drag and drop from the rdc window to my desktop but the file don't get transfered, is there any software or plugins that can easily transfer the file from server to my desktop without having to first upload to another linux server.

You have to use ftp . setup your ftp via ISS on server and also use ftp software. i am using filezilla

I'm using ftp to tranfer file to linux server first, is there a way to transfer the file directly from windows server to my desktop ? How do I setup ftp on windows server so that I can download it directly on my desktop.

Teamviewer is pretty easy and has a file transfer function. Everyone can use it.

but,,first you must setup your RDP
>RDP>option>local resources>more> check disk that you want connected to VPS..
and now you can copy paste

You can use dropbox. When put some files in your folder on the server they automatically will add to your folder on your desktop pc.

Actually, artetatu's solution is the best + fastest one. With dropbox, you put/save a file to it's special folder, it gets uploaded to dropbox's servers, and once it's available, it's downloaded (synced) to all other devices running it.

If you follow artetatu's advice, you only save it once to the connected device (like an USB memory or an external HD), and the file gets uploaded directly to it, no third parties involved.

I use my dropbox folder like a normal /Documents folder. Everything gets saved there so it's available everywhere.
