So I have done a ton of reading on NMS, and I still feel I'm struggling to see what exactly makes a keyword worthwhile....


Here's my method so far...


- Exact Match Search, Monthly
- 30,000 plus visitors a month
- CPC: $1.00 or more


Just curious in hearing what metrics you guys use to find keywords? Any insight is greatly appreciated!

it doesn't always have to be near 30k searches a month, it could be a buying keyword that gets 1000 exact searches but because they are extremely targeted and in a buying state of mind they will convert a lot better and you will make a lot of money. However if you managed to rank for a 60k a month keyword but for a broad keyword, they might not be looking to buy anything and no one will click your ads or buy your product.

Aim for high searches but don't rule out the smaller searches as they can be extremely profitable

This is great advice. Some of my best converting pages target specific product searches that get 1000 or less searches a month. It's generally something like "Blue Widget reviews". They already know the product and may very well buy it or another similar product featured on the site.

When looking at seed keyword you need to look at the market you are trying to capture..Think about what you are selling or what you offer...you must be very informative to find targeted keywords to get leads and sales.
