so i've always ignored the horror stories that go around about paypal limiting accounts and so on as its never happened to me and i always thought if they have done this to someone then there must be a good god damn reason

well guess what today them sons of bitches limited my account for NO reason at all!! they gave me 5 transactions from yesterday that they apparently wanted details on, so i go and check these 5 transactions and guess what they are ALL legit transactions and to make matters worse they are all transactions i have done for months and months and had no issues with but all of a sudden these cunts decide there is a problem!

so i phone them 4 times today each time i get cut off, so you can imagine i was about to blow up when i finally got threw to them, you know what excuse those fuckers gave me, well it was more or less errr yea yea this happens for security! i'm like wut! that makes no fucking sense at all so all of a sudden you douche bags have a problem with shit i been doing for months all from legit verified usa accounts, GO FUCK YOURSELVES PAYPAL!

/rant

Wow stories like this , on daily bases....
Just try to avoid PP

it's not the end of the world, if they were legit transactions, you can have no problem submitting the proof they require, so they can remove the limitation

however it's a legit question why they're doing this only now and not the first time you made those transactions

i was limited twice with my legit account, after submitting the required proofs, they removed the limitation in a few hours both times

This is mainly a problem with anything less than a premier account, what type do you have. When i had a regular account i had all kinds of problems even though it was verified and once i upgraded i've not had any since.

yea i have a fully verified premium account and like i said made those transactions lots of times before, i sent them all the details but i went off on a bit of a rant in my response so lets hope that doesn't delay things :|

fucking asswipes! theres not even much you can really do about it apart from jump threw their stupid hoops, like id see past it if i had made some strange transactions but i haven't! :/

Yikes! I, like you, thought this only happened to people who were doing shady things. Better watch out!!

HoNeYBiRD, that's a great ending to your situation but unfortunately, PP doesn't always play fair. Hence, the reason we have so many PP sucks websites. I personally know individuals who are running legit businesses that USED PP and got slammed with a limited acct for no legitimate reason.

What people fail to grasp is, PP is investing those funds while they are holding them for 180 days. Personally, I think there needs to be a Federal Investigation into the practices of PP on the backend.

This is mainly a problem with anything less than a premier account, what type do you have. When i had a regular account i had all kinds of problems even though it was verified and once i upgraded i've not had any since.

As far as I know, there are only three types of PP accounts:

  • Personal: Recommended for individuals who shop and pay online, or wish to send or receive personal payments for shared expenses such as splitting of dinner bills or rental charges.
  • Premier: Recommended for casual sellers or non-businesses who wish to get paid online, and who also make online purchases.
  • Business: Recommended for merchants who operate under a company/group name. It offers additional features such as allowing up to 200 employees limited access to your account and customer service email alias for customer issues to be routed for faster follow-ups.

That said, PP has slammed the door on people with Business Accounts without legitimate reason. I have two BAs and have never had a problem. However, that has to do with me learning from other people's mistakes and not taking any chances with PP and their whimsical fraud algorithms.

so i've always ignored the horror stories that go around about paypal limiting accounts...

Hopefully, this will be a lesson to others to be preemptive right now! If PP is your sole source of payments, you need to come up with a plan "B" A.S.A.P.! This is not a scare tactic; this is where the rubber meets the road. I have seen this happen to people that I know personally, time and time again.

@ t0mmy, you weren't clear... did you send them the proof they were seeking? Or, did they tell you after the phone call that they were closing your acct?

if there is no complain from the buyers or dispute, just send them what they want and your account will be active again.

i know exactly how you feel they did the same thing to me even though all my transactions were legit.

I know exactly how you feel.

I got limited once with about $7. Wasn't a big deal. It wasn't even verified so it was fine. Made a second account again, not verified - got limited with about $100. Third account was verified fully as a business account with legit details and credit card. They limited that with about $2000+. Made a 4th one. Got limited today with $3. Paypal's something that you hate but you need. Many people use it. If Alertpay was just as big, then I'd go for them.

But another really good one is 2checkout. Check them out.

fuck paypal, i've lost over $3,000.00 in 2 days with these mot*er f**kers, never in my life will ever use paypal. And they were all legit, i wanted to buy clad, i didn't sold any or any other thing near that. So you figure it out with paypal, SUCKS

yea well i sent them back some text stating what each of the 5 transactions was and explaining after each one that i have made this same transaction lots of times before so why the problem now? I then got the guy on the phone and he claims it should be enough to unlimit me but it could take 24 hours, man if they fucking dont sort this out i am screwed

Welcome to the club! They're holding $700 of mine for no specified reason right now. This is the third time I've been limited, all for legitimate transactions.

Not to piss you of or put you of, but they helf $2k of mine. They wanted passport and all those ID details. I sent them and phoned them. They said to me that they should be ready to unlift the account as the evidence I gave was "enough". They said it will be done in 20 minutes, didnt work. 24 hours went passed, no reply. I phoned them again and they said dont phone again, they have limited my account and thats final.

I'm going to change over to Authorize.net soon, in part because it's cheaper in the long run and also so I don't have to worry about things like this.
