Example: My website have content about cars,softwares,sports I will can position these niches??

If you're a noob at SEO, try starting at a more specific niche. For instance, what about cars do you want to blog about? What about software do you want to blog about? Choose one specific niche and stick to it.

And remember to do your keyword research before starting!

Ah ok I misread.

Yeah you can target them for specific keywords, just make sure your Targeted Keyword is in the URL/Title/Meta Descript/Meta KW, Has a decent KW Density %, H1,H2 Tagged, bold,italicize,Picture Alt Text, Anchor Link (both internal/external pages),underlined.

Adwords competition is not SEO competition, so you'll have to gauge the top pages for your search keyword to get the real SEO competition.

Categorizing your blog post is better. But having a specific keyword for your article is important since it is the basis how your blog/site gonna rank. Better do analysis for keyword to choose, you can use Google Adwords.
