Interesting project

Hi,

I'm a CS master student who has been into IM for +/- 2 months but hasn't been able to make a lot of money yet. So I thought why not try to combine my CS knowledge with IM?
My major is datamining and artificial intelligence and I thought it would be kind of interesting to use datamining for IM related stuff. The problem is that I don't really know what kind of applications are interesting... I don't want to make something that already exists (open source, that is) and it should eventually be used to generate $$.
Yet again..any kind of programming projects would be interesting for me. As long as they have an IM-related goal
So any suggestions?

I'm not so familiar with the youtube aspect of IM. Punctuation marks in your sentence would be handy to understand

Like I said I'm not familiar with youtube comment posting techniques but I'll look into it, thanks. Any more suggestions are welcome

Bots, for creating accounts, posting comments, rating, increasing views/visits or other tasks targeting Youtube, Facebook, Twitter, Web 2.0 sites, Wikis, WordPress or any other popular platform.
Yes, there are already bots which doing these kind of tasks, but if you can make your bots better i'm sure you'll quickly monetize. And currently biggest demand is for Youtube oriented bots.

You could build a local directory account and review manager for local SEO. You could have it manage accounts all of the top review sites (Yelp, Google Places, Insider Pages etc...), binding a specific proxy to each account to reduce the risk of getting banned. Then you can integrate some sort of review manager and dripper with those accounts. I think you could sell this to pretty much any person interested in local and small business SEO.

Sounds to me like you might want to brush up on your IM game a bit before taking the dive on starting a project that caters to an industry that you seem to be lacking sufficient knowledge on.

I know, I'm still a beginner... I'm currently ranking two websites by means of backlinks and original content but haven't used any youtube or twitter methods yet. I'm personally quite interested in creating a tool to help creating original content, but that problem is sadly enough very hard... (I'm not talking about regular content spinning...). It's also quite hard to know which tools are currently available since there are so many.

I thought perhaps I should do freelance programming on elance or something, but these indians work extremely cheap so it's hard to get a decent price....

I've already done stuff in most "popular" programming languages but mostly I program in Java, C++ and Python. I follow a course on computational linguistics and as far as I know there is no way to automize original content creation, even with a large corpus on that subject. So instead of trying to do that I just want to improve the current content spinners. I just have to think about how I will do that

Twitter data is easily accessible in contrast to say... backlinks data.

The point is not to actually create new content from scratch. But to create genuinely unique and well written content that will seem original to the search engines. This is definitely possible without spinners or anything else of the sort.

If you are interested in doing the project in C++ maybe we can work something out.
