I saw this video on the front page of YouTube and it wasn't that special and I look at the referral traffic and it has over 200K views from subscriber module when he only have around 140 subscribers. Also it was featured on homepage of Reddit but that wouldn't effect the subscriber module referrals. Discuss....

Good find. Social media at It's finest as well.
Thanks, hopefully some people will look into this method and maybe find it. I would myself but have school to attend tomorrow and need to look over some work..

pretty sure the "subscriber module" is the front page in this case...

but even if it isn't, it's probably not smart to post stuff like this anymore. If this is an exploit, youtube will crack down on it, and it makes it a lot easier when people post stuff like this.

ah this is simple. when the user submitted to Reddit they clicked the video from sub module thus it had sub module reffer link, when he posted to reddit he copied that sub module refer link so whenever it was clicked youtube thought it was sub module.

not exploit, just youtube devs are lazy fucks and don't feel like fixing this "bug"

Incorrect, no matter the URL google puts tracks where you clicked it.

Incorrect. If he took the subscriber feature tag URL like this for example:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xxq0K13gj1M&feature=g-user-shu&list=SL
then views would be showing as coming from the feature tag they had the link for. That's not to say he wasn't exploiting, but I highly doubt this is an exploit. Just because he has a lot of views from that feature tag doesn't make it a definite exploit.

Ahhh my bad then. I guess mods can close this. Lmfao.

Or if you actually figure out the view algorithm you can make it look coming from anywhere. I can for example give a video 100K from SpK.com but it would put my method at risk so I play smart. But it could easily be a exploit so I see where you're coming from.

there IS a method for this as I found an unlisted video that says TEST and he has like a few hundred subs but it had 50k views in 2 days from the sub feature. he said he was testing a method. I should get ahold of him again. He told me about it but it was over my head, much like spks (-1) post on another forum. He laid it out & it went over my head.

this is so easy, have been using this trick for months i could literlay make the views coming from any inside point from the youtube site and im pretty sure (80% sure) that this is the same thing spk is using to manipulate where the views come from wich is why im not going to release it to anybody (dont need to come PM me, sorry)

WRONG. This is not an exploit at all. This is someone using the feature tag URL to send views to or promote via other websites/emails to people. Then it shows up in analytics as those stats. I haven't discussed with SpK what his method is, but I assure you this has nothing to do with his method or whatever he is doing.

He's talking out of his ass :) Also I figured out that the subscriber thing is a bug with reddit and YouTube. If you get your post to the frontpage (me and another member here called "Dubtube" did 2 days ago) I saw that most of the reddit views come from the subscriber module. Weird.

I figured it was either that or the person posted the subscriber feature tag on reddit when posting it and it then went viral there.
