Not true at all. Google is certainly the most important. But not the end all. Submitting your site to ALL search engine is a good way to MAXIMIZE traffic potential. Also by submitting to more engine and directories you have a significantly higher chance of getting into google and performing better.
Getting into google is easy. A single link from an authority website is enough to peak googles interest and get most of your site crawled. There are far more time efficient ways to put yourself in a position to be found by search engines then manually submitting and then waiting in their spiders queue.
Hell have at it I guess since it's free and automated.

People that are new to the web but do well in offline business and want to setup a site & did not do some basic research fall for this stuff. It may sound odd to us that are experienced but damn, those guys make bucks from this stuff
