I don't see how this is blanking the referer when it appears to only spit out a simple iframe.

I just uploaded everything and it throws a 404 when I try and go to the mysite.com/index.php page.

Using cake slice you can redirect to another URL after they have signed up, no idea how it blanks as the code is very complicated

Its not, I havnt setup the redirect on my sites yet, you can choose whether you want to redirect afterwards or not

Thats the second code. Cakeslice gives you two different codes to use. You must use the one that blanks the referrer

The install system with code igniter will not work on some hosts - (ie Godaddy) Also, I found that it is easier to just build your view pages and DB on a local server (WAMP) and then upload to your host. I fixed a bunch of bugs in this and know what to change now -

I had no problems with hostgator.
