Share any habits you have picked up specifically from BHW over the years:

Mine:
-Addressing people as "Mate" and i'm not even friggin Aussie...lol
-Reading threads from back to front to look for the bad reviews
-Never asking for spoon-fed methods.
-Feeling the urge to "thank" and "give rep" to my family and friends when
they help me with something

Looking at the date, rating & number of comments before opening any thread.

We call people 'Mate' in the UK by the way, new fact of life for you there :D

I think my only one so far is reading something and then in my head I say over and over again 'Take action'

Spying a person's threads and posts, and realize all the path he had from when he/she was a noob, 'till the road of success. It's funny, because there are so many techniques, niches, exact strategies that makes a lot of money, and which are told in numerous posts by an user, where if you make that puzzle up, you'll win a cookie ^_^ You got my point.

So this is one of the things.. which was also profitable for me, lol :)

WOW!!! Never thought of that...Awesome "Method"

Sifting through the Recent posts to read just the interesting and valuable ones.
Giving rep to people who I feel deserve it.

The only habbit i got is checking BHW more often than i need to, its a distraction some times

Haha, just pick your favorites! Sometimes it might get boring, until the point when you figure out what's inside the "player's" mind :)

I speak completely different to people in different countries...like metafilters or something. I don't speak like that to everyone, but if it's clear they struggle with English, I only say the words that they will understand, like "How much cost?" instead of "How much money do you want for it?"

I also ask them about the health of their family. I think it's much more respectful than just saying something like, "What's up, bro?" I know that's not the way their culture talks, so I don't do it.

Most importantly, even if they are working for super low wages, I call them Sir and treat them with respect. I pay them on time and in full, because without them, I wouldn't be making the money that I am. It's imperative that they understand I'm in it for the long haul so they strive to do the best job possible in order to get business everyday.

Just my little tidbit for those trying to business in other countries.

i've picked up the habit of always hiding my work... whenever I'm having a problem with wordpress, etc. I find myself getting amazed that when people have problems on their forums, it's just "normal" to post a url to a project for someone to help you with...

or talking with friends and family... am still covert about everything i do out of some fear that they'll go click my adsense because they think they're "supporting"

hitting the refresh button on a thread of interest multiple times within a min

ohh haha that really made me LOL!!!
First step is always a difficult one but TAKE it and join the race as soon as possible.

I have started Googling the content in any thread to see if its a copy/paste job.

Wow... so many of these I find myself doing... lol

Bad habit I've developed: not subscribing to a thread because its so good I'll never forget where it is... and then not being able to find it a day or two later and wasting a lot of time!

Here is what i have learnt for the past 1 year from BHW

1. work hard and smart

2. Be legit in all your works

3. Respect with rep & Thanks

4. Gained some communication skills

5. Never and ever scam anyone for any reason

And lot's more......
