How much do YouTube partners earn?

I think the best way to monetize the youtube is not becoming partners an using CPM method. I think it is adsense, you will earn way much more.

I don't get it, how can you monetize with adsense without being a youtube partner?

Alright... but I don't get if YouTube partners are paid per impression or per click and we are talking about an eCPM value here. The second one, right?

Youtube pays per impression and clicks, adsense pays off clicks and impressions.

I noticed that after about 10k-20k views on video, youtube puts their own ads rather than adsense ads on the video that get payed off views more than clicks.

But it's not just that, in my opinion the best advantage is that you are creating a brand on yourself. So, you can make also TONS of money by selling tshirts and merchandising related to yourself or your videos.

Think of it this way: if you are earning with some blackhat method, you can see your 1k per day banned from one day to the other and you have to start from scratch. On the other hand, if you create a brand on yourself, you are golden for life.

Some weeks ago RWJ got rightfully banned based on what YT policy says. An average user would have lost his channel forever. But he got reinstated after some hours because he is a HUGE brand.

And, if YT would have been stupid enough to let him go, he could have single-handly create his own video platform to stream =3 and reroute there his millions and millions of YT subscribers and FB/Twitter followers.

So, on one hand creating a legit YT channel is a ton of work, on the other hand, once you reach a certain level, you are on a totally safe ground for the rest of your life (your videos will keep receiving traffic and growing FOREVER! ).

Yeah, that's why I'm thinking about doing this... even though since my channel would be based in my country, and also it won't be about funny videos but more of a tutorial channel, I don't think I can ever get anywhere near that kind of level but nonetheless this is motivating!

I also agree on the black hat vs long term profit that this will hopfully bring, so I really think I'm gonna give this a go.

Anybody knows an approximative figure of views/subscribers that I need to have in order to get accepted as a YouTube partners?

For example, someone making a vlog could be going round a supermarket and then just quickly slip in something about some certain product on the shelving. The company who owns the product would pay them thousands to do these product placements as it is being broadcasted to millions of people and ends up being much cheaper to them than TV advertising or whatever and yet more effective.

I wouldn't consider them to be safe as well as some big popular YouTubers are becoming increasingly unpopular and their views are dropping. People like RWJ won't be popular for years and years as his videos will get way too repetitive. What they all need to do is take some of their crazy earnings and invest it into some completely different business ventures so they have something to fall back on

At the moment his channel is raking up a steady 4,460 subs per day (source: vidstatx), and he is increasing his popularity in a smart way doing spin off (Breaking NYC/LA), music videos (YFM) and now even cartoons (forgot the name of the channel, but basically he teamed up with an almost unknown animation channel, he publicized it on his main channel and BAM, in just a few days that channel views and subs skyrocketed!).

He really know his stuff on how to manage his video business, and what I find funny is that he's basically an unknowingly blackhatter since he became famous "stealing" other people videos

Just my 2 cents anyway, I'd like to continue the discussion about this since I'm really passionate about this subject.

Yeah I guess that is true. It is pretty crazy to think he has a big team who are writing jokes for him, editing the videos etc. I think it is just that I don't really like his videos that much that I think his channel will not be very popular in a few years. Someone like sxephil will be popular for a long time to come I think as his content is forever changing with different news stories etc, but with RWJ I can always predict exactly what he is going to say about each video and stuff...I guess if he does other stuff and doesn't just do the thing where he kinda reviews viral videos then he could last longer

I really don't understand why most of the popular youtubers are popular.. I guess I have a different mentality or something.
Like why would anyone watch vlogs? All it is, is some bitch doing nothing all day, talking about what she did yesterday, what she might do today and tomorrow and then repeat on the next day. Who would watch this every single day? Not only that, people actually send them present and tons of gifts for being 'awesome' wtf?

Hey man,

at the moment I haven't got nor asked a partnership request for any of my legit channles, so I can't speak for experience, but from what I've researched, there's not a definitive answer to this (pretty popular) question.

I have read and seen of channels that got partnered with just a few hundres of subs and some thousands views, while other got rejected despite having thousands of subs and tons of views.

I can tell you for sure that if you have any kind of strike on your account (copyright, spam, etc.), you can kiss the partnership goodbye for at least six months.

If I were on you, before asking for partnership or accepting a monetization request, I'd build my channel and audience experimenting with all kind of techniques, blackhat tricks included. Then, when you have a natural flux of say 1-3k views per day, go and ask for the partnership.

Keep in mind that once you are partnered and you have Adsense on your videos, your account will be monitored for sure in case of suspicious activity, while when you are on your own the chance of a manual check decreases. That's why I suggest (and I'm doing myself) to experiment all you can before thinking of asking for a partnership.
