How do i win this Paypal dispute?

Hi,

I have a online store and sell many things each day. I offer unregistered and registered post as postage options. When someone chooses the unregistered option it will not come with a tracking. But what i have found lately is that if they dispute that they didnt recieve the item there is nothing i can do because it does not have a tracking number... Will paypal always give the buyer the win in these cases. This is not fair.

When you mail the item make a digital copy of your postage receipt, label, and any other associated materials. Take a picture of the package with the label on it and send it all to paypal. You'll be surprised what screenshots and pictures can accomplish.

Thats a good idea i might try that will some future unregistered parcels. Sometimes sending registered is too much money and isnt worth it. In Australia to send one of my parcels to USA costs 10dollars unregistered or 25 dollars registered. If im making 15 bucks profit there goes all my profit unless i charge an extra 15 to the customer but then i wont get the sale

With paypal, its all about good faith and doing everything in your power to prove that you are doing the right thing. Don't forget Paypal owns ebay, so they deal with a lot of BS. The key here is to understand a companies overall philosophy then you know how to approach them. Don't forget to thank me.

In my experience yes. That is why we only ship to a verified address and the address in paypal for the buyer. If there is no proof of delivery paypal will always side with the buyer

Yeah, you need to provide proof of delivery not just proof of posting, for Paypal to find for you in a dispute.

Also if OP is in UK, you need to look at Distance Selling Regs too.

For Tracking number I put N/A, I select Intangible Goods and I have yet to lose a dispute. I don't know if it's because I have a Business PayPal account, or if it's because I do so much business with them, but I don't really give them much proof, I just explain the situation and give as much proof as I can and then 7-21 days later I receive an email saying I've won the dispute.

Now, with CC disputes, that's a whole different story, because the CC company is disputing with PayPal and I only win about 25-50% of those.

I have the same problem with international mail. In the US I pay the 19 cents to obtain a tracking number. For international mail the tracking doesn't work so I really have to make a business decision. Basically I have totally my losses and compare them to my profits country by country and make sure the effort is worth while. So far the two that I'm on the fence with are Canada and Australia. Both seem to be complicated by customs slowing the delivery and getting the customers a little antsy. Canada is the worst by far.

if you have been a seller for a fair amount of time and often use Paypal, I believe all you have to do is provide a substantial amount of evidence (e.g screenshot, etc.) and you should be able to win the case..

Paypal is without doubt one of the shittiest company I came across in ages. I once sold a few old cd's on ebay. Haven't listened to those cd's for years, so I figured I either sell them for cheap or trash them. I wish I would have just trashed them! But no, I put them on ebay. One dude bought one of these cd's for 2 Euro. He wanted to get it without insurance and I did understand it, because it's not really reasonable to buy something for 2 Euro but pay 4 Euro for postage with insurance. So I sent it to him and a few days later the dude claimed he didn't received it. This craphead freaked out, calling me a liar and a scammer and so on 2 Euro guys, 2 Euro. Who in their right mind would scam someone for 2 Euro?
I clearly wrote into the auction description that I cannot be held responsible for shipments without insurance. And that's totally in accordance with laws.
Whatever, the dude filled a paypal dispute and won it

I do. People love to not read the Terms of Service that I make them accept before using my free software. Then they buy credits and complain when they got what they purchased, yet didn't read the Terms. A PayPal Rep told me they read over my forum and website and everything was fine.

That is entirely wrong, you don't need a tracking number because when you send your item at the post office (unregistered mail), they provide you with a postage receipt which is your proof of postage, you simply attach this to the case the buyer has opened against you. And if you really want to go extra then ask for the address on the proof of postage receipt which is what I do all the time.
