I paid $299 for a Yahoo directory submission last year. I can't say it helped me that much. They just sent me an email to renew my submission for another year for $299.

Should I even bother with it? What are your experiences with the Yahoo directory? Thanks!

I think it is worthless to pay 300$ though i did not pay.

That would be a lot more clever to hire people and make them make manual comments and advertisements if there are such service.

I would be interested to hear people's opinion on this as well. I would think it would be a good way for search engines to weed out spammy websites and give more weight to real business websites considering people who buy domains in bulk are probably not going to pay the $299 to be in the yahoo business directory for each domain, but a single company with 1 domain would in theory...

Not sure if its still this way, but even if you don't pay Yahoo your directory listing won't be pulled out. Once you're in, you stay in -- even though you stop paying.

It's been several years since I've seen that to be the case though, not sure if their policy changed.

for 300$ you can buy a much more valuable link...so it's not worth

You can get a link from wikipedia for 3,000$ or something,... you need to think is it really worth it... its okay for a new domain to gain authority quickly

In my mind, $299 is a complete waste of your well earned $$$ just for a single directory submission. Would submitting a site to the Yahoo directory bring you enough traffic per year to recover the $299 fee? Somehow I don't think so... I would rather spend that $$$ on services or software from here, or even put it towards renting a VPS with xRumer etc on it. You got to think everytime you buy something will you make the amount you paid back within a reasonable time? If not then the product or service is probably not worth getting, unless if it is software (which you will need to invest time into learning how to use it).

I just edited a wikipedia page and inserted my link near the bottom, now I wonder how long it will stick for...

I just received an email from yahoo yesterday wanting another $300.00.

They are no chance of getting my $$again.

I think its a complete waste of money.

Knowing what I know now I would spend that $300 on a private high pr blog network.

I have always wondered if it's worth it or not.

I guess you could work it out - how much traffic you receive from yahoo, and also if there is any pr on the page in the yahoo directory where your site is listed?

Correct me if that's a stupid comment?

With $300 you can bring 2 complete new sites which both will earn $300 per month and earn $7200 per year. I would never pay yahoo directory, it's worthless and too expensive.

worthless...don't go with yahoo directory submission...!..its waste of time as well as waste of money..go only with google....
