To be honest, don't waste a lot of time building backlinks to your videos.
It's SE optimized titles/descriptions/keywords that rank the videos on top. Oh, and don't forget to add some likes and favorites.

clicks? do you mean views? yes, views definitely help out a lot, maybe the most important aspect. and i'm sure likes help out as well

The big thing about youtube ranking is getting video comments. Get about 5 and you can bring yourself up on the first page of youtube. Also, get someone from oDesk to transcribe your video and have it on your youtube post as well. That will help you improve your video ranking too. Ping me if you have a specific question.

Your question is not clear enough. You wanna rank your video in YouTube or in the search engines? The backlinks help for search engine rankings, but for YouTube ranking you just need correct title/description/tags/views/comments/likes/subscribers.

Backlinks can be effective, but you also need YT likes, comments, favorites and some basic views.
Optimizing your title, desc, and keywords are VERY important for ranking.
