Pinging all backlinks - good or not so good?

I've been doing linkbuilding for a site for about 2 months now and most keywords are on page 1, several in the top 5 and I'm happy with it.
I kept a list of built backlinks and was considering pinging the list to grab backlinks that haven't been indexed yet. Is this a bad idea or can you just do this as often as you like without triggering any penalties?

to the best of my knowledge, it's harmless...although a few think otherwise

I personally would NOT ping them all, especially since you currently have decent rankings!

Pinging them all risks having Google find too many links too quickly (link velocity).

Also, common sense might tell you that some of these SEO pinging services simply reek of 'SEO'...that means that nobody uses them other than SEOs doing linkbuilding, which doesn't result in a natural-looking footprint, in my opinion...

Give them some time and ping the ones that aren't indexed after a week.

I would recommend you to ping only authority links that are coming from authority and high PR sites. Leave rest of the spammy links and let google find them on their own. (By spammy links I mean links created to buffer sites with scrapebox and xrumer blast.)

Thanks

I'm with the wait and see people, too fast too furious is always a recipe for disaster.

Naw, just sit tight and keep adding links. Never force feed the Big G. :P

I'd just let G find the links naturally. Dont want to make your link building seem UNnatural.

hello there guys can anyone tell what does mean pinging the website?

In wordpress there is a section where it says

"Update Services

When you publish a new post, WordPress automatically notifies the following site update services."

can anyone also explain this? thanks :)
