Anyways, IMO I think SEO companies often overcharge for their services and are more oriented towards white-hat and uninformed consumers. I would stick to more "black hat" service providers as they often give more bang for the buck.

Learn it and do it yourself. Most brick and mortar SEO companies are what download has mentioned. They think manually submitting your website to 100000 web directories is the best "whitehat" way to go. You see these "gurus" all the time chatting on LinkedIn and etc lol.

The best was definitely not the cheapest.

You can get garbage on fiverr if you want cheap.

Having everything done by hand is going to be time consuming and expensive. But it's also going to be quality and not spammy and will most likely last for a long time.

The best and cheapest was myself. I'd love a great service that would be cheap and great but quality costs and nobody cares about your seo projects more than you.

What do you guys consider "cheap"?

The guy I've been working with for years builds relevant sites for backlinking. I pay $200-1,000 per project depending on the specifications and like $125/hr for consulting/strategy planning. The guy delivers like a boss, though, and is always available for chat/email/phone. I know he does all the work himself and doesn't outsource anything like most people do.

I think that if u want to rank ur site higher then taking help from experts who are doing business for long time. I do not recommend a new company or etc.

My time is worth more then going out and building backlinks so i always outsource it. I have been using same seo guy for over 1 year on my sites and it only cost me around 35 per keyword which is well worth it to me because those keywords end up earning me 100s
