[ASK] AMR - Clearing article directory list

I have imported some lists of article directories what i've found here. And now i have about 25000 article directories in AMR.
Most of them are bad = not accepting article submissions.

Is there a way remove them from the list? Because i did not find anything in the tool itself. But i am maybe blind ;-).

You can highlight the bad directories, right click and select blacklist

Be aware that because of the way AMR works, it doesn't remove them. (This is necessary.) Therefore, as you build larger lists, the software will get very slow, becasue it is accessing a larger and larger list, even if the majority of them are blacklisted.

I have to say that the coding is not great; this really shouldn't happen, even with huge databases, but it's partly the fault of the Access database construct. But it's also the method used to store blacklisted istes - which is just an index between the directory list and the author account. But it forces an enormous amount of extra processing into the refresh query.

Vince/Sniper really needs to properly rewrite the Directory database management from the ground up. You should able to store hundreds of thousands of directories and just select the active ones at any one time.

i believe he is in the process of doing just this and migrating databases to mysql or another sql to help with stability.

just waiting for the new release which has been due from about 2 months back, but if everything that is promised gets delivered then 1105 should be worth the wait.

so far the rumors i hear are....

more database management options.
ability to only load set of dirs not whole list(pretty easy to do yourself really already)
removal of duplicates directories(very much needed for a long time)
changing of database platform for stability
proxy support to allow for posting via proxies


well see what happens as vince is working on other software so this one seems to be taking a backseat but like i said if all this materializes and works it will be worth the wait.

I haven't moved to 1104 because I'd heard that it had moved to random category selection, bypassing the ones you'd chosen...

Do you know if this is the case?

I understand there needs to be a facility for auto-choosing a category, should your keywords/categories not yield a match, but I have SEO's telling me it's posting to incorrect categories all over the place now? So I 've stayed with 1103 as I don't have the time to test this now.

Does anyone know?

yes category saving feature was removed,

as was the feature that allowed user to manually select a category if you didnt have the right category in your keyword list. now amr selects at random a category to post your article to if you dont have an appropriate category in your keywords that you input yourself.

Ahh... So it still uses your keyword list as the priority?

I had heard that users were getting articles sent to random categories, even when they'd entered a keyword/category that was acceptable to the directory?

If it still uses the manually entered keyword/category correctly FIRST, and only uses a radnom selection when not found, then I can upgrade. Could you confirm this please?

You REALLY need to move to V 1.1.0.x...

But importing directories is the same for any AMR:

Tools : Import/Export Site List and paste the dir URLs m into the URL box.

i was looking for an answer for this also,i have the tool but i am not using it,looks crappy,wtf blacklist ,put there an option to delete them and keep the database clean,the software have lots of missing features also.
is not worth a cent

Well regardless of the cons there really isn't a better alternative. If only every developer was like SweetFunny, pushing out updates 24/7.

Well, don't mean to be digging up old threads, but seeing how the last post is less than 2 weeks ago, it isn't so bad..

1.106 is out now for some time guys, so has the database management been better compared to older versions? Anyone using it can share their method to keep their directories clean?
