Who's your favorite James Bond?

I've been watching some older ones recently, leaning towards Roger Moore.

Live and Let Die and Octopussy are of course classics, just finished Moonraker - aside from the Star Wars-ish ending (wtf?) it was great.

Sean Connery was good, but I think that was before the series really got established.

Never really liked Timothy Dalton, Pierce Brosnan was horrendous. Daniel Craig ones I actually like. Quantum of Solace was fantastic, Casino Royale was somewhat ruined by the incredibly boring/unrealistic poker scenes that took half the movie.

The 3 other guys I've never really seen their movies.

What about yours? What are your favorites?

Sean Connery's my favorite.
Cannot stand James Blonde. Didn't like Casino Royale, Quantum is my least favorite of the series, not planning on seeing any others until they get rid of Daniel Craig. He's a good actor, but this isn't the James Bond character that I'm familiar with and I just don't find it interesting.

I love Sean Connery as an actor, but his James Bond to me doesn't have the same rewatchability factor as Roger Moore's. I think only under Roger did the series come into it's own.

Fair enough on Daniel Craig, those movies aren't everyone's cup of tea, I definitely like them less than some of the older ones, my point was largely that his movies were such a dramatic improvement on Tim Dalton and Peirce Brosnan (ESPECIALLY Pierce, those movies were a travesty), that it was hard not to get excited about them as a Bond fan.

The two last movies are serious movies, the Pierce Brosnan are cartoonish pieces of trash, with no witty dialogue and absolutely no redeeming qualities about them (much like the late 90's Batman movies). They weren't aimed at adults, they were aimed at kids and young teenagers, whereas the earlier Bond films were always more adult flicks (much like the books).

i like old movies (let's say from the 70's), but not old james bonds, those movies make me smile

Then Timothy Dalton - He was actually pretty awesome.

Pierce Brosnan - Golden Eye and TND were good, but the other 2 killed him.

Then George Lazenby - I feel like I only watched the first 15 minutes of his. He was supposed to be the next Bond after Connery, but after his 1 movie; they brought Connery back.

As a Scotsman i am supposed to be Sean Connery 100% However there is no escaping the fact the Roger Moore is the coolest Jimmy Bond.

My favorite's definitely Daniel Craig. I like the no-bullshit rough take on the character.

My second after Crag would be Timothy Dalton for similar reasons.

I really like that one where he rewrites all of that content and puts it on his micro niche blog but then his G00gle Adsense account get suspended. After that he decides to blast like 20 million ScrapeBox auto approve links back to his 5 day old domain and then the evil G00gle puts him in the "Sand Box"... Oh I am sorry that was me not James Bond.

Hey, folks, lay off Pierce Brosnan! Most of the transition to the more real-world and rugged Bond happened during his tenure, not Daniel Craig's. It was under Pierce where we saw the evolution of Her Majesty's Secret Service (they finally called it MI6), where we got successors to M and Q, and where the Bond girls got more realistic (i.e., more of them got killed). Roger Moore was a dandy-ish Bond, an absurd contradiction of fisticuffs and neatness. His Bond movies look more silly and dated than Connery's!

Pierce Brosnan, rugged? You're kidding, right. He was the most pretty-boy James Bond there was.

And BTW, I like him as an actor, just not as Bond. Also the movies he was in were terribly written, so it's not ONLY him. They lacked any substance, it was all cheap thrills and explosions, they made it into a cheap summer Blockbuster. The James Bond franchise definitely had it's fair share of cheap thrills and explosions, but it there was always something more to it, it was more sophisticated than a summer Blockbuster, there was witty dialogue and an interesting story. The Brosnan ones lacked on both of those fronts.
