Google Analytics or StatCounter?

Just about to make my first micro niche, which one should I use?

Does it even matter?

Personally I use GA, used it for years, very used to the interface, but really it's a matter of personal preference as B.O.S.S said, they're fairly equal.

another vote for google analytics, plus they just changed their UI which i like a lot more. havent dug in fully but looks like they added a bunch of new features and also now integrates (somewhat) with webmaster tools

Is it safe to use GA on all of your sites? Wont that show your hand so to speak to Google?

Has anyone actually tested this?

Here's the deal, they may collect similar info, however, Google knows already far too much about us, and its presence is growing.

A regular user shouldn'tworry too much, but IMs and other pros should.

It gives Google the upper hand in any relationship.

Google keeps the algo secret (and they should), but knows everything about us.

Wait 'til they manage to get a social network going like FB, an OS like Windows and so on, and you'll see!

My vote goes for SC or any other that is not owned by Google (yet).

GA is the best choice if you want to sell the site in the future. I've been using GA on all of my sites for almost 1 year and i don't have any problems so far.

If you ever want to sell the site, I'd highly recommend using Google Analytics.

Statcounter cause I don't like it that GA is connected to the gmail account.

GA is no longer providing KEY search referral data due to their SSL implementation thingy... I loved them until they starting screwing around with our keyword referral data... Fckrs..
